The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

If you haven't read it yet, you should look at ChloeTzang's troll-baiting story A Troll is Haunting Tex's.

Xander used to have a place in the basement before TexRad evicted him, dissinfected it, and put in his dungeon.
sorry, I would read it, but I just picked up the new John Irving, and somehow, it is even longer than Chloe's. Probably not as fun though.

The lunch time coffee is running late but it pours easily.

Bologna sandwiches and chips for lunch.
Literotica is having a sleepless knight, then.
That is the reason he is at the insomniacs table.

not merely at... I am the champion of the insomniac's table.

The evening coffee is ready. Better late than never, I guess.

Supper was dinner out. HM's birthday.

Just because other sufferers have not clocked in, don't assume that you ARE the Champ. :)

But I am in desperate need of some Tea.
I meant champion in the sense of "protector" or "guardian" , a knightly tradition, especially to defend the honour of virgins- no wonder it has fallen into disuse.

Since I am awake at this ungodly hour, I'll make the morning coffee.

Welcome to Hump Day. Hump them if ya got them.

Knights and virgins? Such an odd couple thing. If my memory serves, weren't chastity belts a big thing back in the heydays of knights?

Thanks for the coffee, Tx. No insomnia for me last night thank God. I spent the evening at a local pool hall harassing some (very) shapely WAVEs who were followed by several plot bunnies each. Being fellow AO (Aircraft ordnance), we had stories to share causing heads to be scratched - what do those hot Navy girls see in that decrepit old Wing Nut?

The brotherhood of the flaming pisspot knows no bounds

Coffeeeeee... yesssssss... sip... mmmmmmm... ahhhhh... Thanks!

And then yuck for the rest of the day. I am on a roll with my writing, over 15K words in two days, and it's going to be interrupted by having to sit on my butt at our studio standing by for the tech to come fix the windshield on our big van. All of my writing tools are on the system in our office at home. I guess I could copy my current work to the laptop, but the tools aren't as good on it, and then I'll have to spend time messing with the conversion back to the big computer.

[...sigh...]

I'm having a coffee break, some Carmel Cream, no sugar, no milk or cream, just coffee strong and black. My son is fussy today, I don't think he feels well, so I probably won't be on here much today. So, everyone, have a great day; write much, read what you can, and enjoy this day. I'm going to try and read the first few chapters of Wise Blood by Flannery O'Connor today. She was really a wonderful writer, who created many an odd character, and every story is Southern Gothic in a near-perfect way.

Spent the afternoon at a nearby Navy submarine base, I had to get my military retirement ID card renewed because it expired. EXPIRED? At what point in my illustrious retirement will I no longer be retired? I don't think that even the US Navy would force someone to reenlist to stay retired... but I could see them try

That does sound odd!

That seems normal, especially if it's photo ID. My national ID card needs to be renewed at least every 10 years (as does my passport, though my driver's license it's 20 years). It can be new safety features, or simply keeping your pic up to date with your face.

Look at it this way - better your card expired than the other way around.

I agree with Rusty.

The evening coffee is ready for one and all.

It has been a lazy day. Cool and lazy. 35 was the low this morning and 65 was the high. I can live with that.

It makes working in the shop more comfortable for me but it keeps my helpers clothes on. An odd tradeoff.

If I read my Norway driver's license correctly (I don't read Norwegian, so it is unlikely I am reading it correctly), it guarantees I'll live to 100. I am never surrendering it.

D, ya need to eat more, dude.

The midnight coffee is ready.

Umm, you may want to add a comma to that sentence...

Unless he's that way inclined, of course.

Fixed. The sentence, not the dog.

A two hour nap does not a nights sleep make.

The chili I made for supper was supposed to be mild and it tasted that way the first time. The second time it had a little more bite, shall we say. Antacids are an old persons friend.

I thought my steed was my best friend.
