Cynthia - bored 45 year old married stay-at-home mother of 4, ages 7 to 13, is on vacation in Arizona with family. (Her husband has been barely there in the bedroom lately, and when she suggests they have another baby he adamantly opposes the idea.) She wants to go on a copper mine tour. Husband and kids don’t wanna (So boring, Mom!”) so she goes on her own.

Casey - 28 year old tattooed thrill-seeker (think x-games, base jumper, skydiver) is also on the tour, walking next to her. Sees a roped-off tunnel marked DANGER! DO NOT ENTER! so of course he wants to. He grabs Cynthia by the hand and says, “Hey, want to take a minute and check that out? Ten minutes, tops, then we can walk fast and catch up with the group!”

Thrilled to be doing something forbidden with a handsome young stranger, she goes with him. As they explore the tunnel, it’s plain to see the aged tunnel supports have not been upgraded like they have been in the safe areas. As they go deeper into the tunnel there’s a slight earth tremor, and the supports collapse behind and ahead of them. They are now trapped together in an underground pocket! It’s tall enough to stand up in, about 20 feet from end to end. Air is getting through, but no light.

The only light they have is from the hard hat battery lights. The only food is a few energy bars and crackers from Cynthia’s mom-purse. There’s water from Casey’s half-gallon-sized hiking flask in his backpack. They’re thinly dressed for Arizona heat, but it’s cool underground. Then the batteries run low, and their helmet lights begin to dim...

When I started writing here back in 2014, I started with a pair of monster stories. One was a tentacle tale, and the other was the first of many tales of Ali a.k.a. Alina X-. In this one, she gets trapped by herself in a cave branch...

I thought this was going to be about anal sex...

As it is put, it can go many ways, with good suggestions from CasualK9 and the monstrous implications of AlinaX's suggestion (with a wide variety of possible monsters).

Could also go mild romance to where as they wait, Cynthia opens up to Casey about her boredom and dissatisfaction with her marriage. And Casey, ever the thrill seeker, can't resist fucking someone else's wife, while help (and potential witnesses to their adultery) are on the way.

Or it could go very dark one-last-fuck-before-we-die, with the would-be rescuers only stumbling days later onto their intertwined corpses.

I like the image of him nursing on one of her large boobs while she nursed her own milk out of the other. Just passing time together until she needed a break...
Or perhaps she's got smaller boobs, so he nurses out of her and transfers it into her mouth... Too kinky?

I thought it was going to be about subways. There are "urban explorers" who go into abandoned or never completed tunnels, mostly in New York but in a few other places. Interesting settings, perhaps, but I'd have to think of a plot that would justify it.

Yeah, people sneak into this and other places to look around. Popular with graffiti artists too.

There's a story in here somewhere.

Very broad: someone who doesn't want to be found goes hiding in them, and someone else goes searching for them.
Reasons for hiding & searching, sex & gender of the characters and any prior relationships to be filled in, to be seasoned with any kind of kinks and fetishes to the writer's taste.

"The Phantom of The Copper Mine", LOL!

The odd thing is that I have stories that are set close to there geographically (because I grew up near there and and had a friend who lived within a block of it once), but I'm not feeling how to use it right now. In any case, I've already got some other things in progress, so maybe later.

I have a bit of fantasy fixation on long underground tunnels (with several entrances) leading to a "secret" skinny dipping hole, but other than the wandering underground those have nothing in common with the OP as would rather involve a girl or two exploring and discovering and using it, a peeping tom exploring and stumbling upon them, and a lot of close near encounters hiding in the darkness unaware of being few feet away but not meeting, probably including from whatever third party, and so on. And no, I don't have a real coherent story involving those scenes either.

rather than forbidden- secret and forgotten tunnels play a key part in Willow's Run, a fascinating debut novel by Robert Bocksteal. The compelling characters make up for a few flaws, like an overly complicated plot. I recommend it. Could not put it down.

There's a whole bunch of old gold mining tunnels under my town. There's a tale from a few years back, where someone was renovating their kitchen and fell through into one that wasn't on the map (someone digging into someone else's claim).
However, they were saved because they ran into a graffiti artist who had been tagging and mapping for fun.

That'd be a fun way to kick off a longer romantic dating tale, of two people from vastly different backgrounds.

Graffiti artists were a huge deal for a while in New York subway tunnels - plus on the trestles, in the yards, in the stations - and at least a few female ones became prominent in the "community." There might be some romantic possibilities in that, although it's not something I have first-hand insight into although I certainly saw the results. The social backgrounds of some of the "artists" may have varied somewhat; I'd have to check on that.

There must be a story in that somewhere, although as I said, I'm not really feeling it yet.
