President Biden's new debt forgiveness in the form of wiping out a degree of Student Loan debt has the christian nationalists up in arms and exposes the hypocrisy of so many republican officials who've had debts they owed wiped out in various ways on the public dime.

Guess President Biden (first of his name, 46th President of the United States of America, Breaker of Deadlocks and Keeper of the Faith) is a bit more up on his Christianity than they are:

"For practicing Christians, it is a regular reminder of the Jubilee tradition that Jesus embraced in his first sermon in Luke’s gospel. 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,' Jesus declared from the prophet Isaiah, 'and has anointed me to proclaim… the favorable year of the Lord.' As his 1st-century hearers knew, Jesus was referring to the debt forgiveness laid out in Leviticus 25, which prescribes a regular social practice of clearing debts in order to correct for the accumulated injustice of an unequal distribution of resources in society," the two explained. "The idea doesn’t come from Karl Marx, as McConnell suggests, but from ancient Scripture."

*chuckle*

A thread of damnation of the president by praise so faint. This caretaker is a warm glass of milk before bed.

The inflation reduction act has nothing to do with fighting inflation which is why the Left turned to praising the "Green" provisions in it which do nothing but spend money and raise prices, but I guess technically, you don't call what "saves the planet" inflation no matter how much it adds to spending.

U.S. consumer confidence rebounded more than expected in August after three straight monthly declines, with vacation intentions rising to an eight-month high, a potential positive signal for consumer spending.
The Conference Board said on Tuesday its consumer confidence index rose to 103.2 this month from 95.3 in July. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the index climbing to 97.7.

The survey's present situation index, based on consumers' assessment of current business and labor market conditions, climbed to 145.4 from 139.7 in July. Its expectations index, based on consumers' short-term outlook for income, business and labor market conditions, increased to 75.1 from 65.6 last month.
things change as changes happen, but these snapshots of consumer confidence bode well for November.

How exactly does the Green provisions spend money and raise prices? Where is this money being spent? Which items will suffer raised prices, AJ?

A President being a President... it's still refreshing

Jackson getting federal aid
Biden’s action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to coordinate all disaster relief efforts. The agencies will provide assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety.

Bad news for Trumplitards.

"A big win for America": Biden announces tentative deal to avert national rail strike

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/freight-rail-strike-biden-announces-agreement-to-avert-railway-strike/

President Biden announced early Thursday morning that days of negotiations at the U.S. Department of Labor to avert a national rail strike,
with potentially major implications for the economy, had yielded a deal.

In a statement, Mr. Biden said the "tentative agreement" between the railroads and rail workers' unions was "an important win for our economy
and the American people" and "a win for tens of thousands of rail workers who worked tirelessly through the pandemic to ensure that America's
families and communities got deliveries of what have kept us going during these difficult years."

Mr. Biden said U.S. rail workers would "get better pay, improved working conditions, and peace of mind around their health care costs:
all hard-earned," thanks to the agreement, which he said was "also a victory for railway companies who will be able to retain and recruit more
workers for an industry that will continue to be part of the backbone of the American economy for decades to come."

quietly redressing the imbalance:

President Joe Biden has won Senate confirmation for more than 80 of his nominees to be federal judges, a breakneck speed that outpaces former President Donald Trump at this juncture of his presidency.
The Democratic-led Senate confirmed four new circuit court judges in the last two weeks, most recently U.S. District Judge Florence Pan to the powerful U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, by a 52-42 vote, bringing Biden's total to 83. By contrast, Trump had installed 69 judges at this point in his tenure.
Biden has chosen an unusually diverse slate, with high shares of Black, Latino and Asian American judges, and he has put a premium on nominees with a background as public defenders or civil rights lawyers, picking fewer prosecutors and corporate lawyers.

mcconnell's probably pissed but he's still way ahead... one more reason why the midterms are so important as to the nature of which of President Biden's picks a rep-held Senate would approve.

Good luck with your expectations.

Not looking good to take both.

My expectation is they take the House with a double digit margin. Whatever hopes Dems had of cutting losses are gone. Senate could go either way.

Yep...a few months ago, you expected a landslide.

Good luck with your expectations.
