I don't know how it was back then compared to now but, I expected more fun interactive people instead of so many people trying to shame and attack people for their input in a lot of the forums. I didn't expect the non tolerant attitudes of the supposed tolerant Liberals to be so prevalent in a place where those attitudes should be left at the coat check before participating in the forums. I'm a little underwhelmed that this place is like other social media platforms in that sense. That's why I don't use other S.M. plaforms. I have interacted with some cool people, it's not all bad. But I have to be cautious and think about which forum threads to interact with or risk having a group get their feelings hurt when they hear the truth and someone who doesn't feel the way they do. It used to be okay for people to have different views and opinions. It made for thoughtful conversations. Not anymore.

why is it that self proclaimed truth tellers always end up with fists up their behinds?

i miss the homies from days past. the people you fell into conversations with step for step. if i tried harder, i may be able to find that again, but life gets fucking hectic. it's that new realtionship energy some are able to carry on for years. this place has seen a lot of breakups. i'm ready for a seat in the library of the old folks home, waiting for my 10:30am lunch to be ready.

as for the good old days, i'd imagine that's how most people remember the time when they were still fairly new here and full of zesty beans for the new; that's all before disillusion with so many sets in as you discover they're just a bunchacunts... it's all an illusion :D

after 14 years, i'm a lot less naive and see patterns. some people see dead people, i see patterns. oh, and found there are some really decent people here, honest, true to goodness people.

I would say between 2004-2010. Threads and posts moved quickly. It’s was always busy.
There was fun. There was drama which was always an interesting read. Lots of interaction with a lot of different people.

Then came social media. People established friendships and cliques and moved on.

Then came a wave of political bs. Where every thread became a political debate.

Then came the board stalker. Where women no longer felt comfortable.

And then came age. We are all too old for this shit.
