Mar-A-Lago raided by FBI

“If you are associated with Donald Trump in any way, you better cross all your i’s and dot all your t’s,” Sean Hannity, a close personal friend of Trump, declared on his show Monday. “Because they are coming for you with the full force of the federal government.”

lmao... does he sound a tad worried? 'the full force of the federal government' can be a scary thing if you're guilty as fuck

I am really going to enjoy the sight of all the "UNSEAL THE WARRANT NOW!" screechers like Ted Cruz do a complete 180 once Trump challenges the release in court, as I expect him to do.

Of course, there are the same folks (many of them in this thread) who swore that a prospective president's adherence to proper information security practices was the issue in the 2016 campaign.

The warrant itself is completely inconsequential. What makes the case is what reason was given to the magistrate in the form of an affidavit to justify this type of warrant to search the premis of a former president.

The fact that he's the former president gives him absolutely no special protection under the law. Hell, with Clinton we had a unanimous Supreme Court saying that a sitting president can still be forced to defend himself against a civil suit.

it doesn't matter what you think, or what i think for that matter.

you'll get your wish to see the affidavit if trump gets indicted and chooses to release it.

as of now, Trump’s counsel has until 3 p.m. ET Friday to accept the DOJ’s request for the warrant to be publicized. Given the generalised nature of whatever information there is released, we'll not be much the wiser, though the attachment to the warrant will be more enlightening since it should list the statutes believed to have been violated.

For one side it is, if your name is Hillary, McCabe, Sussmann, Lisa Page, Comey, strzok, Rosestein, Obama, Biden and a whole host of others it’s not so scary.

It does give him equal protection under the law

He had nuclear documents at Mar La Go

Of course he did.

More speculation, your TDS is reaching KeithD and Butters levels. Again, until the narrative on the affidavit that was presented to the magistrate is made public I don’t believe anything the DOJ does is justified.
Nobody gives a shit what a porn board Deplorable believes or doesn't believe about the DOJ.

Just watch and learn, Deplorable, watch and learn.

The "lost" documents...last seen were in Trump's estate... involved our nuclear capabilities. Highly classified information. Republicans...all Republicans...are traitors and should be tried by Martial Law because they have now facilitated in transfer of classified material to a Foreign Government.

Has there really been any credible information yet on what the documents he kept back even after letting some others be returned were? I think they were more likely personally embarrassing or damning ones to himself (the North Korea love letters, discussions on complicity with the Russians, more explicit blackmailing attempts against Ukraine on the Bidens) or ones connected with domestic political chicanery that would add to the criminal cases or be useful for blackmail than that they would be nuclear-related stuff. I think the nuclear-related stuff was far beyond what he could get his mind around or see a personal use for. And, contrary to what ICan't has claimed, all of it is stuff he has no right to and probably would/will contribute to putting him where he needs to be: federal prison.

His stupidity in this, beyond his outrageous chutpah in doing it (and everything else) in the first place, is in not destroying the more incriminating stuff once he got it home. This indicates that the mobster in him just couldn't resist the possible opportunity to use it in blackmail of others down the road.

What the board Trumpettes should keep an eye on is how they are helping to rev up the crazies to do crazy things over this. They have responsibility for supporting this shit and should just stop feeding it. This is sedition and supporting crap right up to murder.

Because of past fraudulent applications for FISA warrants by the FBI this magistrate is way over his pay grade. What if exculpatory evidence was not included in the application like the Trump team did cooperate with the records department.
If that’s the case whoever put the person in charge of the FBI in place should be locked up.

Unconfirmed reports tonight (think: FBI Leaks) describe the documents as almost entirely related to nuclear weapons, purportedly the exact inventories of nuclear devices of American allies. Just the sort of info Comrade Putin would like to get his hands on.

Yes, that would be for the Russians' use. The Class A turd the board Trumpettes are still clinging to is an espionage asset of the Russians. What is really headshaking is that Trump is so lacking in morals and is so fixated on himself, that he probably only wants the Moscow hotel deal from the Russians in exchange for anything they want that he manages to get for them. If it is nuclear material, it will be close to impossible for him to explain that away.

Incidentally, the nuclear codes wouldn't be a problem in this. They were changed the day he left office and several times since then.

potential for them to be released sooner than expected, though there's word t's defense lawyers have already been feeling out the repercussions of them not signing off on a release.
Indeed, Republicans like former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell have demanded that the DOJ provide immediate answers about the raid. Now the DOJ is saying that so long as the judge in question ascents(sic), they will immediately turn over answers the moment Trump relinquishes his rights to keep those answers secret and lets the DOJ publicize what this was about. If Trump surrenders his rights to keep this secret and the DOJ is asking them to reveal it, then it seems like there would be little rationale for the judge to deny the motion. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart has given Trump until Friday afternoon to notify the court whether he objects to the unsealing of the documents.

and from the same article:
It has previously been reported by Newsweek that Garland had not signed off on the search, which would have been an extraordinary oversight. Garland has been noted for his excessive caution in his approach to politically charged law enforcement decisions, and the implication that he did not sign off made it look like the search may have been conducted by rogue actors over something trifling.

The Newsweek source, who is now shown to have been not telling the truth, indeed said as much himself:
The senior Justice Department source […] insists […] that Garland had no prior knowledge of the date and time of the specific raid, nor was he asked to approve it. “I know it’s hard for people to believe,” says the official, “but this was a matter for the U.S. Attorney and the FBI.”
liar liar pants on fire....

guy who attacked FBI field office and ended up dead
  • went to the Capitol jan 6th
  • on truth social, he called for violence against FBI officers after mar-a-lago warrant execution
  • has been very active past few months on truth social using his own name

On Thursday, a post to Truth Social — the social media platform founded by Trump — from an account under his name said he would attack the FBI.
"Well, I thought I had a way through bullet proof glass, and I didn't," the post said. "If you don't hear from me, it is true I tried attacking the F.B.I., and it'll mean either I was taken off the internet, the F.B.I. got me, or they sent the regular cops while"
The Truth Social account that appeared to belong to Shiffer, who described himself as a construction electrician from Columbus, Ohio, posted that he heard about "patriots" going to Mar-a-Lago in response to the FBI's search.

"I recommend going, and being Florida, I think the feds won't break it up," the post said. "IF they do, kill them." He continued to post that people should "be ready for combat."
"We must not tolerate this one," the post said. "They have been conditioning us to accept tyranny and think we can't do anything for 2 years. This time we must respond with force. If you know of any protests or attacks, please post here."

even as his attorneys look into the ramifications of them blocking the release of the warrant and receipt documents, this:

Trump later released a statement saying he would not oppose but rather was “encouraging the immediate release of those documents” related to what he called the “unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in … Release the documents now!”
these documents are in his hands. right now. he can release them ANY time he wants.

why oh why are people so stupid they'll suck up his shit?
