Au Contraire!! In a democracy the citizenry can make pretty much anything a state issue.

Abortion isn’t that high on my list of issues. I never agreed to a total ban on abortion. If a ban is voted into law, like all other laws, I will abide by the law. Myself and my family will abide by our religious belief which is our right, which doesn’t infringe on other rights. I won’t stomp my fee fees and go batshit crazy and start burning shit down.

I don't think the argument is where the policy is being made. It is more a matter of how those state constituents will appreciate that policy is now a state matter compared to a federal right. This may cause those constituents to decide to only vote for those candidates that are willing to move the policy back to the feds.

Yes, and this goes way beyond basic health policy. They realized that imposing their radical Sharia Law on a whole host of issues was too difficult to do at the federal level, so they want to use red states as their platform for getting a foothold.
