White girl question.... @Diosax
What about Mexican Hot Cocoa? Is that an authentic Mexican beverage or an American bastardization?
I can get it as a just add water (or hot milk) dry mix just like hot cocoa powder, but I also have some (what I was told was) Mexican hot cocoa that are hard pressed *I think* powder cakes to disolve into hot water or hot milk. (The ones I have are just wrapped in wax paper and have no labelling on them).

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, I would describe it as hot chocolate with cinnamon and a hit of fiery spice in its flavor profile.

Educate me!

Thanks ❤️

I think it should be _____ inspired....also if they want to be vegan and vegetarian WHY do they need _____ inspired foods
Now I feel triggered and discriminated against, being a vegetarian/vegan. 😂 I have very real reasons for being vegan, and it's not just because it's trendy. Frankly, I don't care what it's called, so long as it's vegetarian/vegan. Also there are limitations to what you can call something. Taking the sausage example, do you call it a vegan long-skinny-round-thing?

Note: if you've never had sushi before, don't pick up the green paste thinking it's something avacado-y and stick the whole thing in your mouth. Not that I know ANYONE who has done this. (other than me)
That wasabi is actually REALLY EXPENSIVE for the real stuff in Japan, they make it with horseradish and food coloring here in the US

Hahah
On today's Ask a Latino we will talk about Mexican hot chocolate

Jk lol
Yes we drink it. But we call it Hot chocolate (or Mexican hot chocolate for non Mexicans). Some parts do it with water others with milk.

The chocolate tablets (idk what else to call it). There's commercial ones or small towns make local ones. I'd say buy chocolate ibarra and not abuelita. Bc abuelita is owned by nestle and it has a bunch of chemicals.

Hahaha nooo I'm just pondering out loud

You don't have to explain yourself

Hahahah idk. I saw a meme once that said I bought this soy chorizo and I didn't realized it was vegan bc I thought it said "I am chorizo" bc soy is Spanish for I am 😂😂😂😂

That's why I'm saying it should be sausage inspired vegan sausage? 🤔😂

But is it really Thai food? 😂
I really enjoy foods derived from or of other cultures. Like someone else said, food evolves in new contexts. For instance, I recently learned pad thai is not a dish that you would ever get in Thailand, but an immigrant from Thailand who opened a restaurant in the US invented it for her menu. So... idk what you call that other than:
Let's get Thai tonight honey -
One order pad thai with chicken, 3 stars

Much like butter chicken.
British colonialists expected gravy with their meat and am entrepreneurial food vendor figured this out and invented a new genre of Indian food for the white palate. Funnily enough, butter chicken has always been my favorite dish.

Ok but serious question:

Does anyone know what they're doing?
Do you know what you wanna be when you grow up?

AFAF 😂
I definitely don’t, unless winning a couple hundred million in the lottery is a valid “what I want to be when I grow up” choice! 🤣🙃
Yes, they definitely having some server problems ... I just had to 'get off' and then 'turn back on' ...
Welcome to the chaos!
