Just another day in the gun paradise of the world.

A lot of our violence is driven by the drug prohibition.

We did not learn our lesson from the last one.

And the people who cry loudest for gun control always seem to be those who live where gun control and gun violence go hand-in-hand. It's just that most of their gun violence is one at a time...

In a sense you have identified the problem.

We know the profile of these individuals. Overwhelmingly they are male, between the ages of 18 and 25, come from a fatherless household, have either been clinically diagnosed as being mentally ill and/or have shown socially deviant behavior at a relatively early age. We, in the US, have defined deviancy downwards to the point that it is expected that society accept, and make accommodations, for these individuals. In other words treat them as if they're 'normal.'

Just as a flock of chickens will peck and abnormal member of the flock to death, so to will children castigate another child that deviates from the social norm. This is instinctive and no amount of theoretical admonishment from the social psychologist crowd is going to change that. In effect that effort only serves to irritate the rest of the flock.

The issue for us is to figure out a way to deal with the situation without shredding the Constitution.
 
Guns have become too much of a good thing.

The 2nd has been oversold and perverted.

If habeus corpus were oversold, the jails would be empty.

Abortion was oversold and is being corrected.

Guns will get corrected as well, in time.

Yeah, I picked up four new chicks and within a week, the strong three had killed the weak one.

The gulf is too great. Those who want to ban guns also want to shred and rewrite the Constitution, as Obama put it, as a charter of positive rights, and as you can imagine, that list would be long, expensive and lead to national suicide.

They are all the time. Every person who hates guns and decries gun culture self-regulates.
 
Yeah and that deserved society is one that people all over the world are clamoring to be part of.

I think it galls you that we are not a pass-through nation for those people on their way to a Canadian paradise.

Having or not having a father never prevented a criminal from committing a crime. History if filled with examples of well raised hardened criminals as well as fatherless model citizens.

The meme is nothing more than a backdoor attempt at "corruption of the blood."
