The barbells are nice in that I can sometimes see a little bump or 2, if I wear a thin tee-shirt. Maybe not noticable to others, but I like it. I have caught them with the towel before. Ouch!
The rings hide under the shirt better, but are a little more flashy. Wifey has not seen the rings (yet), doubt she ever will. She is not a fan of the piercings.

Thanks for the reply. That is what I originally got over 1.5 years ago (barbell). I wanted the rings at first, but decided with barbells as it seemed easier for piercing.

The ring looks great, but I found it snagged and moved around too much, especially for a new piercing. The bb, too was prone to snagging on anything with straps, like binoculars, a camera, a backpack, etc. Like you, other people were less than enthusiastic about my piercings, although I tuned the noise out.

I am glad that I can finally swap them out now. I just ordered 3 different sizes of D-Rings with the ball at the bottom. So when inserted, they look like a ring, but through the nipple part is straight. (Like this picture.) Not as fast as swapping an earring, but it is doable.

It was so funny. Not long after I got them, I was laying out near the river getting some sun. What a great day! Had my sunglasses on, hat over my face and enjoying the sun. Then I felt something that almost felt like a drop of water on my nipple. WTF? It was a duck that thought it was something to nibble on! I had to laugh! Wifey poo won't touch it, but the little duck tried it out.

I had mine pierced almost a year ago, and they put in the barbell until it heals. I had healed in about three months, and immediately had them switched out for horseshoes (like a septum ring with a ball on each end). I fucking love it, and it shows when I wear the right kind of shirt. (I like showing them off, and my women friends and lovers love them)
