CHICAGO - Nine people have been shot and killed in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend.

They are among at least 57 people shot, according to the police.

Last year, 19 people were killed and more than 100 people were shot over the long Fourth of July weekend.

It was just another day in Chicago except for the majority of the victims were probably white. In total city-wide, 71 people were shot with 8 fatalities. Last year on the fourth of July 19 people were killed and more than 100 people were shot. So yesterday was an improvement over last year.
