January 6th Prosecution vs. Trump - Loving Updates

"Before you decide if the former president is responsible for the Capitol riots, remember that in America you're innocent until proven guilty, then proven guilty again, then proven guilty again and they hold a hearing in primetime to show everyone how you're really, really guilty." --Stephen Colbert
"Bringing seditionists to justice should be a bipartisan move, as Rep. @Liz_Cheney has shown us. The @January6thCmte is critical for the health of our democracy." --Lynda Carter
Mark Ruffalo, for instance, tweeted, "Watching this, one thing is clear: this was a planned, violent coup that was set in motion by Trump and his elitist cabal to overthrow our democracy. He and all is enablers should be in prison."
"Popcorn shares are through the roof! #January6thCommitteeHearings," Patricia Arquette tweeted. She later commented on the committee claiming several Republican congressmen called then-President Donald Trump asking for pardons. "It's almost as if they knew insurrection was a crime," she wrote.
"If the insurrection had actually been #BLM and/or #antifa FOX would be running commercial free & Tucker would sprout a second head so he could talk about it more" --Diedrich Bader

I’ll leave that to Wyoming voters. Like most Americans, I already know what happened on January 6 and don’t really care how the clowns on the committee spend their time.
Judging by the content of your posts...you either clearly DONT, or else (even worse!) you actually SUPPORT what happened on January 6th.

And, as a patriotic and loyal American, that frightens and disgusts me even worse than just plain ignorance.

Nonsense. If you are not aware of what happened on 1/6, you’ve been living under a rock. It has been reported extensively, complete with video, first-hand accounts from people on the scene, internal documents, text records, trial coverage, etc. And if you think I support the rioters you certainly haven’t been reading my posts.

1/6 conspiracy committee ....... feeling November breathing down their necks as they cry about 1/6.... LOL

Convicted of what? Collusion with Russia or lying under oath? The Russiagate nonsense came straight out of Clinton opposition research. They needed an viable excuse for losing the highest office in the land to a complete fucking moron with zero political experience.

Say what you want about Trump but every victory he accomplished was on the Democrats watch. He outsmarted the Clinton campaign and the entire Democratic Party. Losing to a blithering fucking idiot like Trump is unforgivable. It's like a heavyweight boxer losing a fist fight to a one armed Girl Scout. There are no excuses.
KeithD would deflect for and defend Clinton if she tortured and skinned small children alive on the WH lawn every morning.

He's that much of a partisan hack.

In case anyone had any doubts, the hearings actually cleaned up in the ratings:

Let’s put this in context. Like the State of the Union Address, the docudrama was televised on every major news network. We all remember that powerful speech, right? The oratory masterpiece that reversed the president’s plummeting approval ratings and ignited burning enthusiasm for his agenda?

Yeah, I don’t recall much about it either. Anyway, that pulled in 38 million viewers. Double the 19 million audience size of the Thursday night production.

NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast, which unlike the state of the union or the 1/6 show, is not covered on ABC, CBS, NPR, CNN, or MSNBC, averaged 18 million viewers last season.

About 6% of the American population tuned in the other night. The other 94% had more important things to do. Democrats have only themselves to blame. They mishandled it from the very beginning.

There's a reason that boomer likes Brett so much and it has nothing to do with any decision Brett ever made.

I do like Brett and I‘m sure I’ve posted many reasons for that in this forum. Thanks for the 1/6 update. Have another beer. Lol.

why these televised hearings are so important: they're reaching people who may not have seen the coverage of the real violence that occurred jan 6th as (many fox news watchers) were never shown it. With all the major news networks carrying the hearings, plus online access, it's about getting the facts of the events out there into the eyes, ears and minds of the majority of decent Americans.
Reason Senior Editor Elizabeth Nolan Brown said she thinks the purpose of most congressional hearings is "political grandstanding," but according to her, "last night's (widely-televised and streamed) hearing of the House select committee on January 6 was different."
"As someone who was skeptical going in that this hearing had any value, I've changed my mind about that," Brown writes.

"I still don't think we're on the verge of democracy dying, or that we need a new war on domestic extremism or anything like that," she continued. "But what went down was frightening, and many of those involved in spreading the lies that led to the riot and to whitewashing it afterward (including but certainly not limited to Trump) are still major political players."

Brown concluded that "it's been easy to look at January 6 through slightly rose-colored glasses to dismiss grave pronunciations as just so much melodrama. Last night's hearing—and hopefully those to come—serves as a powerful antidote to this."

Contrary to a report from the New York Times' Peter Baker that Donald Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner wanted nothing to do with his father-in-law's efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, Rolling Stone is now reporting that the husband of Ivanka Trump was plotting with her dad to conduct a "scorched earth" campaign to keep him in office.
According to the new Rolling Stone report, "Kushner absolutely was intimately involved with Trump’s scheme to overturn President Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 election. It’s just that he bailed on the mission early to save himself."
According to one source described as a senior Trump advisor, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani would not have initiated all the election result legal challenges that were uniformly smacked down by the courts if not for Kushner's counsel.
The source, who admitted they were part of the effort, told Rolling Stone, "Jared was directly involved. There was a [brief] window…when it seemed like he was positioning himself to be the Jim Baker of this fight … It didn’t last long. He backed away from it, but he was there and got his hands dirty like everyone else did," later adding, "Jared helped create what then morphed into the Rudy clown show.”
the day after jan 6th, kuschner tells his wife "we're moving to Miami"

Fox News didn’t even want their viewers to flip over to the televised hearings during commercial breaks, running ad free during that time period (so losing money in the process). They’re a bit worried 😟 obviously of what is being presented. We saw Barr and Ivanka jump ranks from the sinking theory of the rigged election. There’s no there there.

I agree. It will be interesting to see what’s going to be revealed next week.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, one of the Republicans who sits on the House select committee examining the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol, said Sunday that the panel will unveil evidence in upcoming hearings that Republican members of Congress sought pardons from former President Donald Trump in his final weeks in office.

"We're not going to make accusations or say things without proof or evidence backing it," Kinzinger, of Illinois, said in an interview with "Face the Nation" when asked about the revelation last week that GOP lawmakers sought presidential pardons.
Cheney named Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania as one of the Republicans who sought a pardon from Trump, though he denied doing so and called the notion "an absolute, shameless, and soulless lie."

well that'll be a popcorn moment, for sure, if they show the goods on him and expose him for his brash lies. somehow i don't see Liz Cheney naming him, specifically, if she doesn't have full evidence to back her assertion.

Can't wait till they start refuting Republicans who deny shit with the evidence. That's going to be fun
Still waiting on the Gym Gordan tapes.....Im certain that douche was behind the scenes...most likely turning a blind eye to obvious law breaking as he likes to do

ignoring trump's dismissive comments about ivanka's testimony, or mary trump's claims he's saying she's perjured herself, there's more that catches my thoughts about them:

According to Ivanka, "It affected my perspective. I respect Attorney General Barr, so I accepted what he was saying."
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...sedgntp&cvid=5e5ae524050f4550b24e03dbfdf2a0b8

just take a moment to let her words settle in.

o.k, moment over: she is saying she respects barr so accepts what he said... so she's saying that she's chosen to respect him over trump, or even that she holds little or NO respect for her father (not that i fault her for that). his words are more important to her than trump's. in trump's eyes, the ultimate betrayal, surely.
