January 6th Prosecution vs. Trump - Loving Updates

One good thing about the Jan 6 “ Insurrection for Dummies” was it clearly identified the Stupid Wing of the Republican Party.

It reminds me of the Tea Party, only less intelligent.

Maybe the Republican Party should be split into a farm team and real Republicans.

Or trade them for more Cubans and Mexicans… those immigrant Brown Republicans seem like they have more A Game than the loser KKK wannabes currently fucking your country over.

not strictly speaking a committee update, though i'm sure it's been investigated by them, but a reminder of how boebert was confronted on jan 11th by a republican

Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., was confronted by one of her Republican colleagues for live-tweeting the locations of various House lawmakers as the Capitol riot unfolded, according to audio tapes obtained by CNN.
The exchange reportedly played out during an internal conversation on January 11 between Boebert and Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash., who asked the freshman firebrand point blank, "Is it true that you were live-tweeting from the floor our location the people on the outside as we were being attacked, Lauren?"
"Umm, yes," Boebert responded. "Those tweets did go out and that was something that was live and public information. It was broadcast live."
"So don't ask us about security if you're telling the attackers where we're at," Beutler shot back.
"So, that was something being broadcast live from C-SPAN, and once we were on move, there was absolutely nothing else that was broadcast," Boebert insisted.

DC Metro cope Daniel Hodges, who got repeatedly beaten and crushed in a door on Jan 6th, has this to say:

"There's really no redeeming value to that man," he said of Donald Trump and his response to the American government being assaulted. "I don't know how he's managed to con so many American people into siding with him and defending him. It's mind-blowing."

As forRepublican leaders who are trying to downplay the seriousness of what happened on Jan. 6, 2021, he said, "I don't know how they sleep at night."

Here’s a tip: if it takes 18 months to get to a Hearing…. It wasn’t an Insurrection.

There is an infomercial mini series sponsored by House Democrats with assistance from polished media producers that starts tonight. Ratings expected to reach WNBA levels.

The public should find interest in their Representatives conspiring or being involved with conspiracy to overturn an election...I'm glad they're finally airing it live.

Unfortunately, some out there have made an interesting point. With gas prices, food prices, Ukraine, mass shootings and so many other things, this seems to have fallen out of prime view for too many. And that doesn't include the multitude of natural disasters that have taken the focus of those directly affected.

18 months is a century of news cycles.

The only lesson is that half your country’s voters want to become a banana republic and have the wherewithal to make that happen.

Russia, China, USA…. Same shit, different flags.

Tonight's hearings we're spot on. Can't wait to see the reaction tomorrow

The new stuff from tonight's hearing were:

1. Trump knew he had lost, but tried to launch a coup anyway.
2. Apparently several Republican members of Congress, none of whom are in prison yet for some reason, sought out Trump for a pardon before January 20, something that innocent people absolutely do all the time.

Tucker Carlson Throws Prime-Time Tantrum During Jan. 6 Committee Hearing

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/tucker-carlson-jan-6-hearing-tantrum_n_62a29af2e4b04a61734c6934

Tucker Carlson opened his Fox News show on Thursday evening by making it clear that neither he nor Fox News — unlike every other major news channel — would be broadcasting the prime-time, historic House select committee hearing on the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
The hearing, Carlson intoned, was “deranged” and “insulting,” and he simply refused to “play along.”

“This is the only hour on an American news channel that will not be carrying their propaganda live,” Carlson said, comparing the hearing to the stuff you might see in “totalitarian regimes.”
“They are lying, and we will not let them do it.”
And so, as the House committee broadcast previously unseen footage of the shocking violence by a mob of Donald Trump supporters on Jan. 6 for all the country to see, Carlson instead broadcast panned-out shots of members of Congress watching the footage.

He and his producers plastered hysterical chyrons across the screen for their millions of viewers to see: “JAN 6 CMTE FUELS FALSE NARRATIVES AS SHAM INVESTIGATION DRAGS ON.” “LEADERS WILL SPEND 90 MINUTES GIVING MORAL LECTURE.” “OUR LEADERS ARE FOCUSING ON JAN. 6 WHILE IGNORING THE REAL THREATS.”

Not much chatter from the Trumplitards in this thread except for an idiotic Canuck and an old man yelling at clouds. Yes, I realize they could be the same person by that description.

Tucker Carlson must be so bitter that Hannity, Ingraham and Kilmeade got their text messages read into the Congressional Record, and his wasn’t.

Now we know why Republicans don't want gun reform. Open your eyes sane people. They will not stop. There is only one path forward that does not result in violence. Stop pretending we can live together.

Just can't handle the truth, eh?
Poor old timer.
What makes you think I can’t handle the truth? The riot was undeniably horrible and rioters are being prosecuted as they should be. But it doesn’t change the fact that the televised prime time production isn’t going to have the impact partisan Democrats are hoping for.

Political junkies tuned in last night, but average Americans have better things to do than watch a political docudrama recapping what they already know. It’s summer. People are watching Maverick in state of the art movie theaters, catching the final season of Ozark and following the NBA finals at home, attending graduations, vacationing, and watching their wages and savings being eaten by inflation and $6.00 gas. But enjoy the series.

Holy shit, boomer. Their savings would be "eaten" by catching Maverick in state-of-the-art theaters and vacationing. Gas isn't a fucking luxury, it's not eating their savings, ya histrionic moron.

Apparently you haven’t been following inflation and gas prices. Prices are way up and eating more and more of peoples paychecks and savings.

Then they shouldn't waste their money on vacations and the theater, eh? THAT'S what is eating their savings. Apparently... ah, fuck it.

Tucker Carlson seriously using the phrase "our moral inferiors" like he's the fucking queen or something is definitely a sign that he's FINE and not at all concerned about his people being correctly portrayed as criminals.

Your opinion about how people should spend their money is irrelevant. The fact is inflation rose 8.6% in May. Gas prices keep hitting new records. The televised docudrama series on 1/6 isn’t going to have the impact Democrats desire because the public has more important things to do and more important concerns this summer. The Committee also made some major tactical blunders, but their biggest problem is their agenda is overshadowed by American’s higher priorities.
