Actually, if it wasn't for the Scotch-Irish Exile's and Immigrants there probably never would have been a Revolution or an America. When the war kicked off most of the Puritan English and British Sympathizers were driven North into what is now Canada.

It was just the English for a while when the Colonies were just colonies. However, when Scotch-Irish Exile's and Immigrants started showing up and growing in number. They were the ones that started the whispers of how we didn't have to keep bowing to the King, paying his taxes, etc.. that led to the Revolution.
