*hug*Guys … It’s day 8 of the hostage situation that is recovery … someone save me from this boredom
My mom and my step dad. It's a crappy story and I shouldn't have said anything. On to happier subjects like crippling student debtYour parents told you to leave?![]()

Yup... I'm so lucky I graduated when I did, and that I had student jobs in offices, otherwise I would have been absolutely screwed with my degree in philosophy! It’s funny but sad… I have a friend with a BA in history and she can barely find a job making little more than minimum wage.
Where you at, I could probably steal a few of those motorized carts from Walmart and we can hit the road Thelma and Louise StyleGuys … It’s day 8 of the hostage situation that is recovery … someone save me from this boredom
Whatever happened to "mysterious Egyptian guy"?
I did the same to escape an emotionally abusive situation. I have no regrets, the debt was worth it for meRight? I think my mother might have even suggested I not go to school right away... but at the time, I didn't know how else to get out of my parents' house & have a little independence, so that wasn't going to happen!
That's awful, I'm sorryMy mom and my step dad. It's a crappy story and I shouldn't have said anything. On to happier subjects like crippling student debt
You'd have thought twice doing that in this particular bathroom. That's too funny I dropped my phone laughing
Try a PhD in musicology. It’s funny but sad… I have a friend with a BA in history and she can barely find a job making little more than minimum wage.
I did. Got a good degree from the uni. They didn't tell me which major, though, or which university... I'm an engineer, and I think I should be a mathematician instead. Would still go back to the uni if I had enough energy and enough money to live on for 3 years...Now where would the fun be in listening to parents!?![]()
That sounds amazing and I’m 100% down for thatWhere you at, I could probably steal a few of those motorized carts from Walmart and we can hit the road Thelma and Louise Style
Yea there was this article I was reading yesterday where this lady had 150k in loans but since she wasn't even paying off the interest with payments she now owes 250kYou can never be too angry at Sallie Mae. They're pretty much knee Breakers, minus the cool mob movie charm and accents
It's okay it was a lot of things piled up. I don't waste my love or energy on people who won't for me.That's awful, I'm sorry![]()
We love you here Nat… fuck the hatersIt's okay it was a lot of things piled up. I don't waste my love or energy on people who won't for me.
The trick, is to stay in school. Further your education, prolonging the payment dates until retirement, then promptly die so that you don't have to pay them. At least that's my planYea there was this article I was reading yesterday where this lady had 150k in loans but since she wasn't even paying off the interest with payments she now owes 250k![]()
Sending love to you, not loving the situation. Here's to a better you, in a better life.My mom and my step dad. It's a crappy story and I shouldn't have said anything. On to happier subjects like crippling student debt
Love eyes for you being a badass and an awesome person, not the shitty situation. It's okay it was a lot of things piled up. I don't waste my love or energy on people who won't for me.
Hear hear! And not everyone needs higher learning! I swear, some of the jobs I see that *insist* on a 4 year degree are ridiculous. Like, I can't learn how to answer a multi-line phone without a degree???It’s really sad that we equate higher learning to job prospects … higher learning should be about just that … learning. Fuck our stupid system of selling our physical labor for life necessities like food and shelter.
Lit is, after all, a place you can prolong adolescence beyond all normal limits! The trick, is to stay in school. Further your education, prolonging the payment dates until retirement, then promptly die so that you don't have to pay them. At least that's my plan
All good. I didn't take it as directed at me.I agree. For a moment it just felt like I was yelling at @gga3737, and he didn't do anything to Warrant any hostility. I do sometimes get excited and I don't recognize what tone I'm using
It’s a legitimate plan. The trick, is to stay in school. Further your education, prolonging the payment dates until retirement, then promptly die so that you don't have to pay them. At least that's my plan
My parents pushed me out the door to go away to college. Then I came home and finished up the next three years and as soon as I graduated, they booted me out. I wanted to stay and save and get a nest egg, but they wanted their independence!Right? I think my mother might have even suggested I not go to school right away... but at the time, I didn't know how else to get out of my parents' house & have a little independence, so that wasn't going to happen!
Well they never pushed trade schools when I was in school either. I applied for a lead stock boy position at a Target, and I found out I needed a bachelor's degree. It’s really sad that we equate higher learning to job prospects … higher learning should be about just that … learning. Fuck our stupid system of selling our physical labor for life necessities like food and shelter.
Exactly!!! … life should be about communities working together for the common goal of everyone living their best life… learning for the sake of learning.Love eyes for you being a badass and an awesome person, not the shitty situation.
