Wise decision, although as with a lot of wise decisions it can be very frustrating. And the more hard to get you play the better chance you may get later. Could even help your career at some later time.

ICT I called my 30+ yo son to vent about the elementary school mass shooting in my state. I was distraught. OTOH, I had to be mindful at the same time that he's undergoing personal issues that he's dealing with that sent him into counseling. He handled it well and was supportive.

I confess , it’s my opinion that the media feeds the beast when we have terrible tragedies such as yesterday. It’s their job to voice and shine light on all the different angles of the big question ( why )

Stepping away from the media coverage , isn’t putting one’s head in the sand so to speak as the saying goes. It’s healthier to not helicopter all the ways people vent their emotions about it IMO .
