MTG - I Never Said that oh wait......

she almost looks like a sane person there... which begs the rhetorical question about why she acts like such a crazy person in front of the trumpers

multi-choice:

a) it's all an act to suck up to trump
b) it's all an act to whip up the trumpsters and the q-loons
c) she gets drunk on power
d) drugs
e) all of the above

All that bravado disappears when they're under oath (this is also the reason Trump is always so desperate to avoid ever having to testify in anything). Needless to say, in a healthy system Greene would already have been expelled from Congress and would be awaiting her sentencing.

Also, I didn't realize you can embed tweets here now.

Oh, I think Trump would lie under oath. He's too steeped in his lying.

Two of Trump's lawyers role-played a court examination with him. Their conclusion was that he must never be allowed to take the stand because he is psychologically incapable of telling the truth.

Any predictions about the outcome of this proceeding? Anyone think she will not be eligible for the May 24th ballot?

I've already got what I wanted out of it. If she gets reelected, the district deserves to go up in flames

I've read that there is a lawsuit to disqualify her under the 14th Amendment (under a clause meant to prevent ex-Confederate pols from serving in Congress), but I can't speculate as to its prospects -- it is, AFAIK, completely unprecedented.

That is literally what this thread is about, idiot

If the 2nd Amendment is unassailable and imperishable, then so is the 14th.

I thought I read that this proceeding is based on a provision in the Georgia state constitution and that after the administrative judge writes his conclusions, the ultimate decision lies with the GA Secretary of State.

Taking a sitting member of Congress and candidate for re-election off the ballot because words she said would no doubt set a precedent in the state. I’m sure the SoS is thinking about that. Also his own political future. He’s a Republican who has already incurred the wrath of Trump and his supporters.

If the judge recommends dismissing the whole thing, he’s got an easy out.

Attempting to testify under oath that you were afraid for your life on Jan. 6th, but you forget that video and the internet exist

Trump: “The Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, and Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, perhaps in collusion with the Radical Left Democrats, have allowed a horrible thing to happen to a very popular Republican, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.”

I concur, but for a different reason. Trump is a malignant narcissist. They're good at lying because 1) they're able to convince themselves that anything they want to be true, is true; and 2) they don't feel any guilt about it the way you and I would.

It's about the lawsuit to take her off the ballot.

I doubt she will be taken off as well.

It would be very helpful to use her own flaming to take her off the ballot. It would give others some parameters to work within in their own flaming.

Having her in Congress, though, gives folks an example of current Republicanism to point to. That's helpful as well.

It might be noted that Mary Surratt wasn't at the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Nonetheless she was hanged for aiding and abetting on the sidelines.
