Truman was not a war criminal. The decision to drop the atomic bombs was sound. By that point Japanese civilians of both sexes were drilling as a militia for a last-ditch defense of the Home Islands and, since there were not enough rifles to go around, they were drilling with bamboo spears. An Allied ground invasion would have flooded the gutters of every town in Japan with Japanese blood. The body count from the atomic bombing was trivial by comparison, gave the Japanese an honorable excuse to surrender, and brought a neat end to the whole conflict. And I've never heard of the U.S. being accused of any war crimes in Korea.

I've never heard Eisenhower called a war criminal. He was politically responsible for the Vietnam War in that he refused to allow the all-Vietnam elections provided for by the Geneva Accords, which Ho Chi Min's party certainly would have won; but no Americans committed any war crimes there under his watch.

Kennedy and Johnson are more complicated judgments.

They are an island nation. We could have blockaded them with ease. We chose to nuke em to prove that we could.

whether this president or that was a war criminal......it is a moot point......the fact is that on any given day any president of either the left wing or the right.....is tasked with making a call about an issue that is both a moral and ethical dilemma......he is prone to make the call based on a myriad of data, the advice of his staff, and his own worldview. in many cases, however, there is no good answer and a choice is made that may well involve the deaths of some or many. the sad reality is, the world is a far worse place than most can imagine or even than hollywood has portrayed and tough decisions have to be made. many could make a good case of many presidential decisions to be criminal whether involving war or other things but the defense could also make the case that, all considered, they made the best choice.

What I saw was that you focused on the (to you) undesireable color of one tiny pixel and decided that the entire picture was horrible and thusly denounced the artists as having no technique or talent and therefore should be eliminated from polite society.
