This is interesting. The old narrative was that Trump spontaneously incited an insurrection. The new narrative is the riot was premeditated by Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. The 1/6 committee needs to pick up the pace in getting their story straight and hiring the journalist they’re seeking to spin it. The clock is running out.

Trump said in October that the insurrection happened on Election Day.
House Democrats. They impeached Trump based on comments he made at a rally on 1/6 where he urged the crowd to "peacefully and patriotically" make their voices heard, but also to "fight like hell" against an election that he believed had been stolen. According to that theory, those words are what ignited the riot. Now they are saying it was planned in advance. I guess we will just have to wait for the journalist the committee reportedly plans to hire to write the story. It should come out this summer so that people can read it at the beach or by the pool.

The rally was planned and publicized in advance. In their impeachment effort, House Democrats said Trump’s words at the rally caused some of the attendees to break into the Capitol. Now they are saying it was all carefully planned and coordinated in advance. I wonder if the police officers who held the doors open were in cahoots with the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. I guess we’ll just have to wait journalist they hire to write the story. Maybe they’ll turn it into a movie.
If the Republicans had agreed to a full investigation, they would’ve known about the seditious conspiracy, and could have presented it in Trump’s defense. Guess they really bobbled the ball there.

These are not contradictory. The rally was planned and publicized in advance. Trump whipping them up into a frenzy was not, although perhaps we should have anticipated it.
As I said in an earlier comment, the 1/6 committee narrative is changing. It’s been reported that instead of writing their report themselves, they plan to hire a professional journalist to craft a story they hope will be of interest to a wide audience. Tall order for sure. We’ll just have to wait for the writer to pen his or her story. Don‘t fret. It’s coming soon. They have to get it done before they lose power in 30 weeks.
You mean the narrative that Rolling Stone laid out in October, that the 1/6 committee is now confirming? That seems like an old narrative to me, not a new one.
