It's routine. Congress can investigate things, using its inherent subpoena power, and then refer them to law-enforcement agencies.

There is no American Mafia to speak of any more -- and that is because of a very long process that began with Congressional investigations, at a time when the FBI was turning a blind eye to the whole business.

Jan 6. Which is when the laws were broken.

They will refer any evidence of illegal activity to the DoJ.
 
Why do you pray so hard for the downfall of American democracy?

Most decent, honest reasonable people- real Americans- were horrified by the events of Jan 6th and wish to see those responsible prosecuted to the fullest extent possible. Just like they did for Bin Laden, Tim McVeigh, Eric Rudolph and the Unabomber. (keeping in mind that in their own warped mind, those last three called themselves "Patriots" too.)

I look at the evidence, not the people who present it. Plenty of emails showing what happened here. And I don't put faith in anything. I've already stated as much multiple times.
