And yet it's the fanatical lefty loons in blue shithole cities that burned, looted and killed.For four years I have read that they finally have the goods on Trump, he won't get away this time, but he always does. The Democrats have two more years to throw something at Trump that sticks. If they do not, there is a good chance that he will be our next president.
On the other hand, if they find something that puts Trump in prison, it might provoke a civil war, or at least a number of violent rebellions throughout the United States. Trump's supporters are that fanatical.

WASHINGTON — The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol said on Wednesday that there was enough evidence to conclude that former President Donald J. Trump and some of his allies might have conspired to commit fraud and obstruction by misleading Americans about the outcome of the 2020 election and attempting to overturn the result.
In a court filing in a civil case in California, the committee’s lawyers for the first time laid out their theory of a potential criminal case against the former president. They said they had accumulated evidence demonstrating that Mr. Trump, the conservative lawyer John Eastman and other allies could potentially be charged with criminal violations including obstructing an official proceeding of Congress and conspiracy to defraud the American people.
The filing also said there was evidence that Mr. Trump’s repeated lies that the election had been stolen amounted to common law fraud.
The filing disclosed only limited new evidence, and the committee asked the judge in the civil case to review the relevant material behind closed doors. In asserting the potential for criminality, the committee largely relied on the extensive and detailed accounts already made public of the actions Mr. Trump and his allies took to keep him in office after his defeat.

It’s been a forgone conclusion since the 1/6 committee was formed that it would conclude Trump and his minions were engaged in a criminal conspiracy to overturn the election results. It’s been known since the beginning that Trump’s lawyers, most notably John Eastman, as well as Trump himself believed that Pence had the authority to reject election certifications from certain states. And it’s been known from the beginning that Pence, his lawyers, and just about every lawyer on the planet thought that was hogwash.
The 1/6 Committee needs to get humping if it expects to present the DOJ something it can work with.

No. The only thing that matters is what, if anything the DOJ does with the committee’s final report. No substantive new developments in the latest stories. Stuff we’ve known for over a year.
