Where do you get your News?

I realize this is almost a stupid question to be asking a mostly American audience.

And i mean News as opposed to the slantfest most sources calling themselves news are actually serving up.

Lately Aljazeera has edged out BBC for me.

Founded by former BBC staffers, i like it because you get all sides of issues without the drama and bias.

It’s quite good on the Ukraine bunfight, for example.

I get it via Roku here. Lots of UN coverage and statements from both Moscow and Kiev on the tv tower takedown, for example.

Both sides presented without judgement/spin. I like that.

Where do you mouth foamers get yours?

NPR for brief updates. Twitter for most others. I've got a good mix of right and left showing up in my feed

The literotica forum boards is the last place I would go to for news and political commentary. I'm just here for the sex.:):nana:

Strictly for the Ukraine vs. Putin coverage:

R. Arnab debates from 'Republic World':
https://www.youtube.com/c/RepublicWorld/videos
It's an Indian channel and the moderator is pro-Russian and shouts all the time trying to simulate passion,
but it's guests are Ukrainian, Russian and Western officials and public personalities.

jeeze, it's carnage over there.
It's the same feeling as watching men trying to rape unwilling women.

I'm like:

"Why doesn't the West send their armies to help? Ukrainians are using their untrained civilians as cannon fodder."
But Putin has the nukes and ww3.

"Why don't Ukrainians give up to avoid further carnage? They are clearly losing."
But then: Russian occupation Isn't something to aspire to.

My national paper of record is the Wall Street Journal. It’s one of the few remaining outlets that makes a serious effort to maintain a partition between its news and opinion divisions. I like the breadth of coverage that spans international, domestic, business, technology, lifestyle, and even some decent sports stories. I spend an hour or so selectively reading WSJ stories, then scroll Twitter for articles on specific subjects and commentary by specific people. I follow major football writers, some news correspondents that I trust, some pundits, and state and local public figures.

CBC
BBC
NPR
Toronto Star
Globe and Mail
Al Jazeera occassionally
and lately The Times of India

Hi Fermina!

I don’t think I’ve ever watched more than a few minutes of NPR. I try not to watch news in the A.M. I like to keep a smile for at least an hour after waking up.

NPR Up First - 13 minutes in the morning is about all my sanity can take after the last…..few years.

It’s a podcast. I listen to it while getting ready. Maybe hearing it over watching it makes it less intense.

The Anarchist Daily News Network, Xi Jinpeng News Channel 2, Anti-Capitalist Daily Times, and the Global Collectivist Times.

(Okay, I'm making those up, but this is the same kind of crap that the various Rightguide user accounts post their disinformation from.)

In all seriousness though, I get my news from Washington Post, CNN, FOX and NPR. But only for the NEWS, and not the opinion pieces (since some people can't seem to tell the difference between news and opinion pieces anymore.)

I get the news I need on the weather report
Oh, I can gather all the news I need on the weather report
Hey, I've got nothing to do today but smile
De-doh-n-doh-de-doh
And here I am
The only living boy in New York
Half of the time we're gone
But we don't know where
And we don't know where

In real life there is The Nation, Mother Jones, In These Times, Z Magazine, and Pacifica Network News.

I got the news firsthand from the we-media of our dear interantional students now hiding in the air raid shelter in Kyiv
No disruption of Internet service in a war zone, such high-quality people-centered service should be highly praised and recommended to the rest of the world. In my country subscribers who have paid all fees cannot get such fully-guaranteed service of VIP like this.
