As has been the case for decades I won't be watching or listening. I'll read the transcript in the AM and probably be subjected to snippets posted on YouTube throughout the day.

Same. I don't care to sit through it.

And then you have the responses, which apparently this year are many.

And sitting through applause.....etc..etc. Not worth the time for someone who is already up on the current political world.

Most Americans know the current inflation rate is due to corporate greed during the pandemic. Most Americans. ;)

He was too lame to do it on time in January, like a real President.
 
They need to hire a musical director and a choreographer. Maybe a few song and dance numbers would make it more watchable.
 
It has not always been the custom to deliver a SOTU address in person.

George Washington delivered the first regular annual message before a joint session of Congress on January 8, 1790, in New York City, then the provisional U.S. capital. In 1801, Thomas Jefferson discontinued the practice of delivering the address in person, regarding it as too monarchical (similar to the Speech from the Throne).
