Remember, Russia's incursion into Ukraine in 2014 did not lead to a wider war.

Of course, in that case, they used disguised troops to provide implausible deniability. This will be a lot harder for the world to wink at.

About what? Thousands and thousands may die, but we have more important things to do, like post.

Carry on

I have little doubt Putin will be beaten in good time. The bigger question right now is, just how far is the American right going to take their hatred for Joe Biden in a time of war?

This isn't The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Europe...

Panic. Energy prices are sinking your investments/retirement.

The Pecker doesn't have a very good track record divining Putin's intent. But if he said "don't panic" then by god I'm not going to panic! No doubt he found something on the World Wide Web about it.

Putin continues to demonstrate that autocrats and dictators don't give a shit about anyone else and act with impunity unless put down.

At this point, we should have snipers follow him around daily until they get a clean shot.

I agree. I've never understood our "no assassination" policy. A lot of problems in the world could have been avoided with the supersonic delivery of 63 grains of American freedom right between the eyes.

He's made his intent clear ever since Crimea.
The Soviets learned more from Hitler than Stalin.

It's a sword that cuts both ways.

Subtlety, as I also ran across in the last thread I replied to, is completely lost on you.

:(

It amuses me to watch the news coverage with the correspondent all decked out with a helmet and flak jacket, while in the background several grannies are chatting. The Fox guy is kitted out. The CNN guy just has a jacket, but he appears to be on a roof top. MSNBC is still wondering where Ukraine is.

I'm not watching.
Like the Biden Administration, I'm sitting this one out.

Sitzkrieg solidarity with our friends in Europe. They knew this was coming.

Bye, Bye, baby, Goodbye
She said in her letter
And that was all she wrote!

I figured Fox would have an exclusive interview with Putin and Trump. Maybe that's later during Fucker's hour.

Fox has a Lt. Gen. talking (off set by the weekend warrior, Pete Hogsbreath) but CNN has only a Col. Fox wins the battle of "experts".

Ever wonder why a Lt. General is better than a Maj. General, but a Major is better than a Lieutenant? The Non-Naval branches are weird.

It's not impossible, but understandably difficult to get a clean shot on him for an outsider. However, it's virtually impossible there's isn't a Hohol in his security service... or even a Latvian, although that would probably be insane by now. Then, he's rumored to wear body armor for many if not all his televised meetings. Possibly, the fear the world will see his head explode is also why haven't been translated actually live for a long time, it's always recordings, even if sometimes with a small shift.

(Okay, so what's a Hohol? It's one of the names for a west Ukrainian. Probably just a guy with an Ukrainian grandmother. A calm, serious no-nonsense guy totally unaffected by tension. Dependable and honest to self-deprecation and loyal as a dog. Known to be unbribible. Quiet about religion or ideology not believing any of that shit, none at all... but secretly, maybe even from himself, a pagan, knowing that in death he would join the Northern Lights in defense of the Earth itself for all eternity. Unless called to be reborn again for another war. And his one true loyalty is to a tiny path of land he perhaps never owned but where the unknown graves of his ancestors have been dug for the past six thousand years or so.)

Please note that first it would probably seem as a striking success for the Russians. They're rolling over the borders with what appears to little if any resistance. I'm inclined to believe that's the plan. Ukraine can't be a brick wall, so they try to be a sponge. Give it a bit. They are suffering loses as we speak. Then, tonight, or the night after next... a lot of Russian boys will die. At some point they will have to be resupplied or learn to live on land any old lady may kill them. Okay, maybe not any, any second or third... does that make a difference?

I definitely am interested to see how the residents of Ukraine would react and arm for the fight. I have a colleague in Slovakia who is sick to his stomach over the whole thing and is incredibly worked up over it. We talked a bit on our work call....sad.

You won't get that close. It should be a 700 grain .50 caliber round.

It's difficult to near on impossible to be subtle with a complete moron whose only interest is self validation on the internet and a solid refusal to broaden his horizons beyond that narcissistic point.

If Obama and Biden would have stopped Putin in Georgia and then again in Crimea with devastating sanctions back then this may not have developed at all. Obama and Biden made this happen by being weak. Our energy situation, our inflation situation, we have now was caused by Biden. Putin was motivated and enabled by Biden's weakness. Biden is not a strong President, he has failed and you put him there. Own it.
