Nearly 73 percent of Democrats believe teachers’ unions should have more authority over children’s education than parents, according to a Trafalgar Group survey.

When asked “Do you believe parents should have greater authority than teachers’ unions in directing the education policy in their local school districts?” 72.8 percent of Democrats said “no.” Only 12.3 percent agreed with the statement.

It's always a good idea for a nation to let the uneducated dictate to the educated what is taught.
What could go wrong?

You are so correct, most Democrats know that they are not
to smart and should let someone else decide what's best
for their kids.

I believe teachers should have more authority than parents about education material.

Unions are a part of that.

Agreed.

I do love the anti-union framing of the polling.

Hits Trumpies where they love it

If there is a class of college grads more ignorant than teachers, I shudder to think who they might be.

If 73% of Republicans believe something, it is probably false. If 73% of Democrats believe something, it is probably true.

Start with the Dept of Ed. What a useless organization.

Dept of Ed is the most useless bureaucracy in existence.

Put K-12 educational authority to the states level, allow school choice and watch people migrate to private schools. let funding follow the student and watch teachers unions collapse, let parents opt out of public schools and watch the quality of education increase due to competition and our standing in the world elevate. This isn't about teachers it's about a corrupt system, a system dedicated to it's own survival while students take a back seat.

Look around the world at all the countries whose educational systems are generally agreed to produce better results than the U.S.'. One thing they all have in common is centralized national control of the schools.

"not to smart." Oh, the irony. :D

And, yes, most countries are smart enough to know that, to achieve an educated society, curriculum should be under professional guidance, not parents, whose function is to deepen whatever prejudices and ignorance they already have. Parents have the children most of the day. They can ruin the little stinkers then.

We have 50 little sub nations in our republic that are better equipped to handle education, a lot better than our bloated government

Them smarty pants, know it all's, with all their fancy talk and indoor plumbing think they know more about book learnin' our youngins then we do!

Bear in mind Lind's Law: The further down you go in the federal-state-local hierarchy, the more ignorance, incompetence and corruption you will find.

If only it was about book learnin' but it's not, it's about social engineering. Lil' Johnny and Suzy coming home telling their god damn nazi parents they need to check their white slaver privileges has had parents raising questions a lot lately.

Teaching all these kids to be good comrades, to hate civil rights and liberties of any kind in favor of collectivism and collective authority. Especially when it comes to matters of race and gender and punishing those fuckin' white males.

Doing so away from their parents prying eyes is of most importance for a reason.

Our bloated, ignorant, incompetent and totally corrupt federal government flies in the face of this alleged "law".

Sounds more like basic psycho authoritarian bullshit.

And considering what a totalitarian control freak you are, not at all shocking. :)

Which state has that in their standards?

Ahhh the ultra-woke activist "teacher" and crusader against the evils of whiteness and masculinity. :D

Who said anything about activist teachers activism being in their standards???

They would never publish that openly, they hide it behind terms like

"diversity, equity and inclusion ".... which means.

So in translation it isn't happening anywhere and you're just a sheep who believes whatever he is told to back up his racism.
