No, the German system is not as good as the Canadian.

I speak only of health insurance. In that regard -- who pays for treatment -- private companies do nothing the state cannot do better and cheaper, as evidenced by the fact that per-capita health care costs in the U.S. are twice Canada's, and not because health care here is twice as good. But it is not necessary that doctors be state employees as in the British National Health system.

Name one thing that government can do better, cheaper or efficiently than the private sector. You can't name one, but you want to trust your health to government bureaucrats?

Libraries, schools, trash removal, court houses, infrastructure/public projects, launch things into space, national defense and that's just off the top of my head.

You're listing things that traditionally government has done and not those that government does cheaper, better and more efficient.

I don't think we have to have a discussion about schools. Anyone that can afford to send their kids to private schools does. Public schools, especially in the poorest neighborhoods just push children through the system.

Every day, more and more municipalities are outsourcing garbage collection to private companies. IN the last year, we've seen multiple companies begin testing private space travel on rockets that were funded at a fraction of what NASA has spent on similar projects. On infrastructure/public projects, the government needs to bid out to private companies, because the government is noting more than an overpriced middle man. So you want to try again?

And why are they doing that? Well the public demands Tax savings, so by putting a simple pick up service out for tender, in theory, it should be the cheapest way to pay for that service correct?

So I assume you agree with the above, since you pointed out, that governments are doing just that.

So when was the last tender for Health Insurance coverage released by a Municipality, State, or the Feds? After all,if you don't want the Government to directly run a program ( in the hopes tendering is cheaper), why is Health Care delivery not put out for public tenders, like garbage pick up, or winter road plowing, or bridge or highway rehabilitation???????

And yet countries with all of that inefficient government control (Canada, Denmark, Australia) are listed as "more free" by two major conservative think tanks than the US.

It's sad when even the right wingers get abandoned by their own.
