Well, well, well ...one cannot advertise a job opening, "fake it" by going through the motions, then hire a person pre-picked for the position.

So, who doesn't under this?

Then, it involves a black candidate for the position who interviewed and obviously wasn't ever going to be offer it.

If true...Flores is in for a huge pay day and a public airing of just how unprofessional the NFL has become.

In federal government, you have to do it this way, even if you already have someone in the office you've trained up to take the job. You have to advertise the job and go through the motions of doing the interviews. It's the law.

Yes, this is the law of the land in both public and private places of employment.

I wonder what the dopies will say about this...they will be along.soon.

In the federal government, though, you have to put justifications in writing on why you chose a preferred candidate over one who looked more qualified on paper and in the interview report. As this goes to the subjective quickly (often going to greater office issues than just specific job--for instance upward mobility perceptions of others in the office), it can get dicey.

Under the Rooney Rule, the NFL requires teams to interview at least one minority candidate. They were just going through the motions.

He'll probably never coach again, which is too bad. As a Dolphins fan, I liked him. He's the best hire we've made since Jimmy Johnson. He was the first coach to really stop Lamar Jackson. He showed the league that Jackson can't pick up the blitz. He wanted Justin Herbert over Tua and so far it looks like he may have been right. The more damning allegation is that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross was willing to pay him a 100k bonus for every game he tanked in 2019, but he refused. Dolphins would have been able to drat Burrow instead. If it means Ross has to sell the team, I am for it, he's a terrible team owner.

He's not going to collect a thin dime.

Against the NFL, you're probably right. He'll end up in some executive position like some newly created diversity task force. He should get money from the Dolphins. Many of us Dolphins fans were surprised that he was fired. Looks like the boss hired him and wanted him to tank. I hope the league looks into that and forces Ross to sell. People are tired of him. He has no idea what he's doing.
