He did not take a knee to pray before or after a game. He took a knee during the national anthem, initially to protest being benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert, and subsequently to protest what he perceived to be systemic racism. Ironic given his personal circumstances, but more relevant, his behavior and on field performance was not of interest by his employers, potential future employers and their customers. I think he’s been doing a decent job pitching products for Nike though. Perhaps the latest interview sold more shoes, but who knows?

Exactly and that's his side of it. I haven't read the story because I don't care about the story. It's meaningless to me. The point of my post had to do with anyone commenting on something very personal to three people and none of us were there.

You can say what you want about Colin Kaepernick. His politics, causes or whatever he is doing these days. But to publicly throw his parents under the bus like that is not only disrespectful, it's just plain rude..
 
I may be the only one here to admit this openly but here goes. I just don't give a damn about Colin Kaepernick or his story. His 15 minutes of fame were up so he needed to stir the pot to stay in the limelight.
