Who should be fired?

President Biden's administration is now more than a year old. The performance of some of them is good enough, but others fall short of an acceptable standard. Which person would you choose to be axed first?

Don't say all of them- that would lead to the usual left v right acrimony and go no where. Choose one major figure Biden should fire, and say why

I will go first and nominate Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin for an early exit. He was a thoroughly poor choice in the first place and his performance in the job has been woeful. His bio is frankly unimpressive at best, and his major skill seems to have been a capacity to ingratiate himself with political superiors. It is just plain dumb to put a general in charge of Defence when all - every single one of the Joint Chiefs is a contemporary, all knowing each other well - too well for forty years. It is part of the Defence Secretary's job to kick ass, and to give the service chiefs a tough time when they fail. Only the mildest of criticisms for the Afghan debacle; who has been sacked? - just one or two re-assignments.

The Joint chiefs need a thorough sort out; it looks more like a club for retired geriatrics, at least half of these old, far too old men need booting out. Again Austin has been much too pally with his old cronies (Remember that George Marshall once sacked 98 general officers within less than 3 years.)

Lloyd Austin is a classic case of time server promoted to his all to clear level of incompetence

Now is clearly a good time to fire Austin. Biden wants to put a black woman on the Supreme court. He has an opportunity to show his even handedness by firing a black failure.

So what is your nomination for the order of the Boot and why?

It ever remains that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy needs to go (straight to prison).

Dana Remus.

For years we’ve been hearing about the White House Counsel’s office. Don McGahn and Pat Cippolone were all over the news. Dana Remus hasn’t done squat.

28 hours later and not a single nomination from the enemies of the administration.

Do they not know who the senior folks are, or do thy really think they're doing OK. Strange.

The shorter list is who doesn't need firing, in all three branches. We don't need and can't afford this federal morass.

Every October the Federal government shuts down. Non-essential works are told to stay home. Fire all those employees. If they are non-essential they shouldn't be on the payroll.

I believe the collective response of Wingnut Nation will be along the lines of "Hurr Durr! All of them! Hurr Durr!"

Edited to add:
I rest muh case...

Cardona. But then again, all SecEds should be fired, and their departments dynamited as soon as the building can be cleared. Then salt the earth where it once stood.

Salt is bad for concrete so it would potentially damage the parking lot that needs built there.

To date, I'm not at all impressed with Garland and I wasn't wild about that selection from the beginning. We needed a Junk Yard Dog, we got a lap poodle.

I say 'to date' because there may be stuff going on behind the scenes.

It's interesting that you point this out but don't realize the hypocrisy of all the years spent constantly barraging Trump for his selections "of all the best people" and calling on his ouster rather than his officials.

So, in the spirit of "fuck Trump", perhaps the one person in this administration who "needs to go" is Brandon himself because he obviously cannot choose competent underlings while also occupying the chair where the buck stops.

True, we need to give proper respect to the concrete.

Fuck the concrete, it's MY TAXES paying for the parking lot. I want the best damn parking lot I can get out of it that isn't going to require gazillions in cost overruns, maintenance fees, and endless reconstruction just because some overzealous political commando decided it'd be a good idea to pour a few dumptrucks of salt on the ground first.

The one we need for USAG is Ralph Nader.

That was the sound of bowels opening on boardrooms all across America.

Whoever advised Biden to wait a month to nominate his Justice.
