Had a weird thought: what if there was a rumor going around the new age circles about a ritual that would restore a woman’s magical power, all it required was getting intimate with their blood relatives?

1. Marcy used to have quite a bit of magical power before she got married. As the years went on however, her powers have faded. Still she has several grown sons so are all doing well so she’s happy if a little unsatisfied with her own personal success. Consulting with a member of her coven she reveals that Marcy unintentionally distributed her power to her sons. If she were to “bond” with them, she could get all of it back and then some. Sons would be unaffected, maybe a slight drop in luck but they can spare it.

2. Young witch is pretty powerful but is constantly frustrated by the fact that her family won’t teach her advanced techniques until she lives on her own and graduates college. She finally does both and mother explains the reason for the caution: to take her power to the next level, daughter must reconnect with both her feminine and masculine halves: becoming one with both her father and mother’s sides of the family. Daughter doesn’t believe them and tries to call their bluff, only to watch as both her parents disrobe and approach her.

3. Witch family is matriarchal and each witch must have their teachings passed down mother to daughter. On their graduation however, they must accept all of their mother’s power through an intimate act.

interesting ideas.

could they be adapted for the Halloween contest?

A Valentine's love spell that will capture a heart and stir the blood - until midnight. Even the heart of a brother on the eve of his wedding...

Afaik incest storys thrive on real love between the family members. If you write about an incest happening because of other, outwardish reasons (like a magical reward, or money or the like), the story is likely to be less appealing to genre readers, I fear.

I agree, in order for it to go over really well, some type of prior attraction would need to be worked in.
