Thanks, Biden!!!

Thanks, Biden, for your campaign to protect voting rights. Don't let the Jim Crow filibuster rule stand in the way.

If Sinema and Manchin keep holding out on this, let them face their constituents as the ones who allowed some state legislatures to make voting in federal elections more difficult and/or allow state legislators to reverse the will of the people in their states.

What states have made voting in federal elections more difficult and what have they done to accomplish your assertion?

Today is January 11. Schumer is calling for votes on Biden’s voting law agenda item and the prerequisite filibuster change on or before January 17th.

At least 52 Senators are believed in the No column. Perhaps more. Will the math change by this coming Monday? Hold your hats, place your bets, and watch the hourglass. Tick, tick, tick.

President Biden doubles free at home tests to 1B and includes free N95 masks

...as well as sending a further 1,000 federal medical staff to help hospitals cope, on top of those already sent.
The initial batch of test kits will be available starting next week, Biden said, when the administration launches a new website where Americans can request the free tests. The rest of the tests will be delivered over the coming months.

Biden also announced that for the first time his administration was planning to make “high-quality” N95 masks, which are most effective at preventing transmission of the virus, available for free. He said his administration would announce details next week.

Because gas prices are dropping, and the nasty Deplorable war on Christmas has been cast aside with you and Jill celebrating in such a civil manner.

Yup, Jill warmed his milk for him before his beddy-bye time, helped him put his choo choo jammies on over his fresh diaper after he put out milk n cookies for Santa!

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the $350 billion America Competes Act on Friday, a bill designed to boost domestic tech production and fortify internal supply chains in an effort to curb the country's reliance on foreign powers like China.

The bipartisan agenda to compete with China could see the nation reshape it's heartland economy.

Tucked alongside the $52 billion for semiconductor fabrication and the $45 billion for critical good production, is a $7 billion carveout for investments in 10 regional tech hubs outside of the nation's five leading technology centers.

Mark Muro, a senior fellow with the Brookings Institution who's researched the geography of the digital economy, told Newsweek that the funding in the Competes Act could prove to be the kind of investments that kickstart economic development in the center of the country, exposing the region to the growth experienced on the West Coast as a result of the boom in digital tech.

"It's explicitly targeted on heartland up and coming places that maybe aren't terribly distressed but are kind of going sideways and really have potential that could be unlocked by technology investment," Muro continued. "I think it is important that we begin to spread the innovation industries out."
Thanks, President Biden and the House of Reps! Now it goes to the Senate, yes? How will it fare?
Great for new jobs, great for the economy, great for bringing America up to a level of competitiveness it's not seen before...and with no tariff war

looks like it would have more bipartisan support in the Senate than it got in the House:

House passed it along party lines
Senate voted on earlier version at 68-32

People tend to forget what it was like to have a spoiled brat running the country a little over a year ago, throwing fits in an attempt to overturn an election and become an autocrat like those he admired.

Thanks Biden, just for consistently behaving like an adult and trying to preserve some semblance of democracy. Huge step forward for America. :rose:

Yup, $45.00 dollars to fill up today when it used to cost $25.00 when Trump was POTUS! THANKS DEMENTIA JOE! IMPEACHMENT IN 2023!

At this point in the Trump presidency we were recovering from his first government shutdown. The next one would start just before Christmas.

Let's just hope that, whatever results from the midterms, it isn't another shutdown.

And, thanks Biden, for creating an atmosphere where some Republican Senators are finally feeling supported enough to buck the RNC's resolution favoring insurrection, and work with Democrats on a few legislative issues.

These things take time, and we appreciate your patience and persistence.

Better make it happen because they won’t be there after November! That’s what’s happening to RINOS!

And thanks, Biden, for isolating Putin, re-uniting NATO, nominating a beautiful and brilliant woman to the Supreme Court, and continuing to be a statesman despite the obstruction of the Deplorable cult.

I voted for Biden to remove trump. The best thing ever is that I no longer have to have his tweets thrown in my face and have him strutting around saying how great he is. That alone is worth every day of mask wearing I had to do. And even though he won the RNC straw poll it is comforting to imagine that trump will be in jail before he could become President again.

Why does this entire thread read like a prayer from a child before bedtime?
