The bad news with omicron is the vaccines are not very good at stopping the spread. Even my booster in November didn’t stop the pesky bug from breaking through my not-so-strong immunological fortress over the Christmas holidays. The good news is this variant prefers to attack the upper respiratory system rather than the lungs.

Omicron is more in the upper respiratory system, nose and throat, and this is a very good sign that is isn't deeper in the lungs.
