Florida Giving CRT the Hard Goodbye

One can teach history straight, or use the discredited 1619 Project.

1619 Project:

The 1619 Project is a long-form journalism endeavor developed by Nikole Hannah-Jones, writers from The New York Times, and The New York Times Magazine which "aims to reframe the country's history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center of the United States' national narrative."[1] The first publication stemming from the project was in The New York Times Magazine of August 2019 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in the English colony of Virginia.[2] These were also the first Africans in mainland British America, though Africans had been in other parts of North America since the 1500s. The project later included a broadsheet article, live events, and a podcast.[3]

The project has sparked criticism and debate among prominent historians and political commentators.[4][5][6] In a letter published in The New York Times in December 2019, historians Gordon S. Wood, James M. McPherson, Sean Wilentz, Victoria E. Bynum and James Oakes expressed "strong reservations" about the project and requested factual corrections, accusing the project's creators of putting ideology before historical understanding. In response, Jake Silverstein, the editor of The New York Times Magazine, defended its accuracy and declined to issue corrections.[7] In March 2020, The Times issued a "clarification", modifying one of the passages on the role of slavery in the American Revolution that had sparked controversy.[8][9]

On May 4, 2020, the Pulitzer Prize board announced that they were awarding the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Commentary to project creator Nikole Hannah-Jones for her introductory essay.[10][11]

In September 2020, controversy arose over changes that the Times had made in the published text without accompanying editorial notes. Critics, including Bret Stephens of the Times, claimed the differences showed that the newspaper was backing away from some of the initiative's more controversial claims.[12][13][14] The Times defended its practices.[12][13][15]

So, there has been some controversy over details -- but the project is in no way "discredited."

Exceptions to the rule do not mean there's no rule.

It doesn't mean there isn't a trend, it absolutely means there is no rule.

And as the list of exceptions grows rapidly every decade, the argument for the rule gets weaker and weaker.

And Asians.... holy shit, our very existence as the most "privileged" demographic in the USA literally destroy the intersectionality/SJW/Progressive lefty narrative about race in the USA out of the fucking water. Objective living proof intersectionality is bullshit.....no wonder you're not very big fans of us.

The dictionary definition you posted is indeed correct; but it's not what you said previously. I'm not at all surprised that you can't see that, though.

I put it into layman's terms but the meaning was exactly the same.

The difference isn't there, that's why I can't see it.

.
Emobo should educate himself about the realities of "asians" as a whole in America.

Then he would still be ignorant, but a little better informed.

I would recommend Emobo Google the article: "Asian Americans as model minority: Dismantling the myth. - NPR

:D

I notice nobody has contradicted this:

If you perceive even a tendency towards Communist dictatorship in any of this, or in anything connected with CRT, you are thinking like an exceptionally stupid and deranged member of the John Birch Society in the 1950s.

Nor this:

It was a school of Marxist literary criticism that never had much influence on anything, except perhaps the New Left of the 1960s, which never accomplished anything and has long since faded from the scene. Despite RW fantasies to the contrary, the black civil rights movement, the anti-Vietnam-War movement, the women's liberation movement, the gay rights movement and the sexual revolution were not in any way inspired by the Frankfurt School.

The absence of dictatorial authority. Nobody in this DOA would have, e.g., the power to start or end a war, or nationalize any industry, or put anyone in a gulag, not even a Death Camp of Tolerance. And, of course it would be part of the executive branch, every department is. As for "formally trained experts" and "no political appointees," that kind of civil service is hardly a new concept, it was not even new in the 20th Century.

That is, of course, hogwash.

As a body with absolute veto power over any and all law or policy, they would have the ability to actively influence the content of legislation through a political log-roll, much as the President does now, even though he has no legislative power.

I'm stunned that you would downplay this. But thinking about it, I'm not. This is just the sort of world you want, isn't it?

Only in the sense that if you take two well-designed tests five years apart, you will get more or less the same score each time. But nobody knows what that score means. Some say it only means "secretarial skills."

IQ correlates well with life outcomes: Income, wealth, status. It's not the end-all, and there are plenty if smart people who crater and average people who suvcceed, but on a population-sized sample, IQ will show itself as a maor factor.

That is simply false. Marcuse's "work," in particular, had an outsized influence on "liberation" movements, and we are still feeling the effects of his insane ideas today, primary among them cancel culture, the embodiment of his essay "Regressive Tolerance."

What is the point of the CRT bullshit?

A quota system for ALL cross sections of the economy? Government mandated wages? Some sort of reparations scheme?

Trust me, there is an end game to this madness, just a matter of uncovering it and letting the Sun shine on it. Only shining the light on it will determine whether it will thrive or be treated with "Weed-B-Gone." So far it doesn't seem to tolerate Sunlight very well.

Equity. More importantly, the revolution and upwards flow of power into the hands of those who will run this "equitable" society with an iron fist. Because that's the only way to bring about the society they imagine.

And the fact that intersectionality is part of the equation means this shit doesn't stop at race.

What I want to know is that if racial equity is the goal, what evidene do the Critters have that this is, indeed, the state of affairs that would arise from a racism-free world? Furthermore, what accounts for the enormous disparities in wealth among, say, African-Americans or Asians? And wouldn't those factors that cause intra-racial disparities also possibly cause inter-racial disparities?

Really? There's going to be a shitload of minorities that aren't going to like the results if that's the end game. The Han still run China and those that don't toe the line get eliminated by one means or another.

Well, the first thing that happens is the 'layabouts' in the cities are given 'gainful' employment at whatever wage the government decides they're worth, and they aren't going to be worth as much as they think they are. And if they don't like their job and cause a ruckus, off to the re-education camp. And if that doesn't work they'll be 'disappeared.'

That's how it works in those "Utopian" societies, that's how it's always worked.

CRT will lead to hyperbole!

14 pages of leftist triggering later........:D

I'm listening now to a Matt Taibbi podcast series about Loudon County, VA, where CRT and equity are in full blossom. Here's the interesting thing: The people who are most upset about CRT and equity there are not the white parents, but the south Asians from India and Bangladesh. The school board is aching to stick it to them, and they're having none of it.

Lefties do not like Asians much.....our very existence as the most overly privileged demographic in the country shits all over their intersectionality/CRT and white guilt/shaming.

I imagine the strong antisemitic undercurrent of the left is also rooted in the same vein of envy and "why won't you just be our pet victims???" mentality.

Yeah, our white racist juju doesn't seem to work on Asians very well at all. Turns out you can totally overcome systemic racism by ignoring it completely in favor of education and hard work.

You Asians along with the Ashkenazic and Hasidic Jews screw up the whole premise of CRT so they do their best to pretend you just don't exist.

But WAIT.............There's MORE.

What really drives them mad is that the success rate of the various groups very much matches what would be predicted by the data sets presented in "The Bell Curve." They absolutely refuse to acknowledge the almost one to one mapping of success compared to IQ. And this refusal to accept those facts leads them down the path of refusing to accept hereditary biology. This has manifested itself from the pillorying of Bret Weinstein at Evergreen College to believing you can be any sex you want to be.

Who's the science deniers?

Murray has a follow-up book that is quite heavy on statistics that reinforces TBC: "Facing Reality."

LOL.... and not making dumb ass life choices. Like fucking off school and becoming a single teen parent or any of the other "stunning and brave" things that Democrats like to celebrate.

It's amazing how easy it is to prosper in this country if you can just control the instant gratification urges in life.

Apparently anyone who thinks real women don't have penises......they're also white supremacist/nationalist.
