Loved the audio I heard on the last thread like this, so wanted to see, or more accurate, hear more. Warm up the voice, drink some hot cider, then get ready to share. A song? A poem? A greeting? A story? Tis the season, so lets do this. 🙂

Why not post in the other thread?

I think he’s a chatter dipping his toes in the forum. :)

Hey Jay, the threads run actively until they get to 5000 posts and a mod or admin closes them to new posts. That’s when the sequel and subsequent threads get started. Feel free to jump right in to the existing threads. And welcome to Lit forums!!

Posted in the other thread. It has been dead for almost a month. Thought it was a great idea that brought out some cool stuff and brought needed positivity this season so figured I would try to refresh it by doing a new thread.
Did you even listen to my audio or read the intent of this thread? Or did you jump on here, drop negativity, and move on? How about you bring that old thread to life by actively providing positive content there (I'd be thrilled to join with you in this) or put audio of your own on here. Please stop the negative stuff on a thread that is supposed to be uplifting.

Hi Jay. I think there might be some confusion about the other Christmas audio thread because that had been posted on today before you then posted on it. When you post on a thread, it will automatically revive it and bring it back on to the first page.

There is nothing wrong with creating a new thread but it just means that the older one might not now get posted on and people who don’t log on very often might not get to hear the previous audios.

I will link to the other thread then too. Can someone PLEASE just get into the spirit of this instead of lectures and criticism. This is the Christmas season, it's not a great one for some of us, and we could use as many of these threads as possible. I'd be glad for a whole page of these threads because they are supposed to bring joy. Can posters please stop attacking and start participating?

Oh, fuck off

There’s literally been zero attacking or criticism in this thread. People are trying to help you with forum norms.

ETA: Well, then Amber (quite rightfully) commented 😂 But yeah, seriously. Why get offended when people are trying to help.

Because all I wanted was to see some life back into sharing joyful music and poetry of the season. I've had a crappy Christmas season. Others have as well. I thought that simply spreading some love and cheer would be welcome, no matter what thread it showed up in. Instead, not one has actually listened to my audio or added anything of their own. No one pmed me to ask or help. Instead a thread made to be uplifting in this season just got ruined. So why would I be upset?

Maybe sometimes don't worry as much about the forum or other norms and just pay attention to the heart behind something. Maybe not insist on everything fitting into a neat box. Maybe just enjoy the spirit of something and roll with it.

By the way I just looked. I posted on the other thread this morning. No one else has posted since. That thread is not on page 1 but page 2. So what is the issue here again? I wanted this to be a joyful thread but yall have killed that. And none of you answered the question: did you even bother listening to the audio I posted? Thought not.

Jay I did start to listen to your audios. I didn’t comment because I didn’t listen to them all the way through. Long guitar intros is not something I am fond of. It wasn’t to my taste so I didn’t listen to it all. I am sure there will be others who like it.

I believe this is the other thread in question and no, it hasn't been dead for over a month.

You are absolutely free to start a new thread at any time but it's kind of curious to start a part two to one that hasn't closed.

And yes, I did see that you were active in the old one and you obviously want to make audio posts, which is totally cool. The audio posting thing is a recurrent PG favorite.

Don't take the comments in this thread as affronts, rather it was people stating the obvious. Enjoy your holidays and keep trying on generating new threads. Just know that only a few of the new threads take off and become popular. :)

Think of how you would feel and respond in my shoes. A thread supposed to be dedication to holiday joy and goodness ruined because a handful of posters decide instead to use the thread to criticize or lecture about "normally we do it this way. Why didn't you conform even though that way wasn't working? Don't you know social norms, not common sense rule the day?" Thank you for ruining something that was supposed to be a general Christmas gift. You are all great. Merry Christmas.

Classy, all 3 of you. If you think you can play better please record yourself on here and school me. O gladly give props snd learn where I can. But in my experience, those who can't criticize. I will be spending Christmas morning at a warming center for the homeless and destitute doing a two hour concert. While you likely spend that time in self indulgence. Not an I'm better than anyone thing. I'm just sick of self serving bullies using these platforms to mock other people, especially when they are doing something you can't. How about instead, LOVE ONE ANOTHER. BE KIND ONE TO ANOTHER. You doy know what damage you do when you cut others down and dismiss them out of hand. You don't know what hurt they are facing or what depths of struggles they are dealing with. In short, if you have a decent bone in your bodies, stop being hurtful jackasses and start putting someone else before yourself.
