CDC chart shows how Omicron went from 0.7% to 73% of US COVID-19 cases in just 2 weeks
Business Insider|19 minutes ago
The highly transmissible variant was only recently detected in the US, and is now the dominant coronavirus strain in the US.

I don't know who is playing with numbers, how or why, but this simply did not happen. It's as big a load of bull as the other Big Lie.

For it to have happened, the bug would have to be in the atmosphere, distributed freely by the wind over wide areas and not dependent on people being anywhere near each other.

It only means the others are coming under control.

"It's not nice to fool Mother Nature..."

The figures are compatible with the rise in Omicron cases in the UK and Europe. Why don't you believe it?

Why don't you believe it?

It's wholly unrealistic to think it would spread across many millions of square miles on multiple continents in a matter of days simply by person to person contact.

It's either freely in the atmosphere, the testing is faulty, or all pure bullshit.

You should believe it and be worried.

In the UK Omnicron cases are doubling every two days. It takes some time for infections to be hospital cases, but in London, where vaccination rates are generally lower than in the rest of the UK because more Londoners believe Anti-Vaxxers lies, hospital admissions with Covid have been rising by 40% in a week. London hospital admissions are a larger percentage of all hospital admissions in the UK by much more than London's population should justify.

If those admission rates occur elsewhere in the UK over the next two weeks, almost all our hospitals will be in serious trouble, particularly as staff have to self-isolate because of infections.

Who cares about the numbers?

I'm watching the riots over in Europe concerning lock downs and mandates. If the Europeans will no longer put up with that bullshit just imagine what will happen here if the petty tyrants try the same thing?

It is determined by testing of hospital cases, folks who are in or visited the hospital and those results show 70% now test positive for Omicron. It is that transmissible. Exponential spread....it also shows how many folks travel from around Thanksgiving to New years. The primary mode of spread is air travel and other forms of travel.

None of this is anything new.

If Omnicron is spreading that fast in the US, I assume we will soon see the last of Lit's dedicated anti-vaxxers as it kills them off...

We sure are good at some things:

Spreading viruses
Killing people with guns
Having lots of idiots who think they are right about everything
Having "one of the best" healthcare system....which nobody can access.

There are more confirmed child molesters at CNN (2) than Omicron deaths in the USA.

Credit Tucker. He's right.

So far. The majority of recent UK deaths from Covid are of the unvaccinated.

This is just so ridiculous. Of course it can. All it has to be is highly transmissible, which it is.

If we didn't have international air travel I would agree with you.

But come on. Use some common sense. Serve berm down this road more than once already.

The usual delay between infection, hospitalisation and death is a couple of weeks.

Wait about ten more days and then tell us it is unimportant.

If you are still alive...
