Not a drain on our barely-existent welfare system -- they come here to work and earn. Not crime -- immigrants including illegals are generally more law-abiding than native-born citizens. Not making America any less American -- immigrants assimilate, and their children grow up to be as impeccably American as any WASP from the original 13 states. Not even competition for jobs, really -- they do willingly the shit native-borns won't touch -- you won't see any of them doing farm labor at sub-minimum wage, or hanging out in the Home Depot parking lot to pick up odd landscaping and home-improvement jobs. So, what?

The only reason there is any illegal immigration is because those limits are so low. It does not happen because would-be immigrants are too lazy to fill out the paperwork.

The good guy never leaves anyone behind. Being the good guy also simplifies everything, because if you're the good guy, then everyone who opposes you is a bad guy.

Reality is secondary. The fact that they don't have the money or resources to just fix everyone and everything is an unwanted complication, so they ignore it and fixate on how good they are. When they feel sufficiently righteous, they will find ways to humble brag about how virtuous they are.
