US to restrict travel from several African countries

Doesn’t matter. Variants travel faster than the news of them so it’s already here.

South Africa has a particularly good record at identifying and tracing variants first. The were out front with Delta identification too. So both Europe and USA ban inwards travel, ignoring the fact that the variant is already ahead of the news.

So instead of a nod of thanks to the South Africans it's easier to blame them.;)

Another example of a policy where Biden acknowledges that he was wrong and Trump was right.

It's a good thing then that Trump will be running against Harris...

Because she's never been wrong about anything.

:D :nods:

When you continue to make the virus a political thing, making some sort of political comment about actions taken to protect people from the virus are also political.

Medical science doesn't give a shit about your ideology.

Funny how that became the mantra as soon as you and your tribe were done using it as a political weapon against Trump.

It's always a different set of standards when your guy is in office isn't it?? :D

Kinda like restricting travel to non-white country is clear white supremacy and Nazism, exactly the same!!! But only when an (R) does it.

When a (D) does it, that's wonderful progress, because reasons.

The list of these hypocrisies with the do-gooder NIMBY twats is endless.

Aaah...so that makes it ok then.

Either listen to your doctor or don't.

Sick of people trying to "prove" shit about a pandemic.

Doctors recommend masking and vaccines.

Don't want to do that....just admit you don't trust your own doctor and have no issue spreading the virus to other people. This has never been about personal risk.

No, it's about power and control.

And I won't do what you tell me. :)

Should have known, wouldn't want to expose the originator.

WHO skips two letters in Greek alphabet in naming Omicron COVID variant

By Mark Lungariello and Jon Levine

The emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has international health experts worried, financial markets roiled and the Internet confused over how the new name was chosen.

The World Health Organization appeared to skip two letters in the Greek alphabet when it announced Friday the name for the latest coronavirus variant, which was first identified in South Africa.

Nu and Xi were apparently the next letters in the Greek alphabet that have yet to be used for a variant, according to data on their website.

Internet pundits and politicians speculated that the group skipped Nu to avoid confusion with the word “new” and passed on Xi because of its written similarity to the name of Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) “If the WHO is this scared of the Chinese Communist Party, how can they be trusted to call them out next time they’re trying to cover up a catastrophic global pandemic?”
