. . .as a cure for the WuFlu?

I feel like it might be efficacious.

I'm currently out of stock so somebody's been drinking it. :)

What is your household's current positivity rate? This might be a good data point for my "research."

It’s hardly whiskey but it is fun to drink

Agreed. Reminds me of what I liked about my first drink in a bar. At the suggestion of little Gayla from Arkansas I had a SoCo and lime. Southern Comfort isn't really very good whiskey at all but the lime kind of metal is it and I'm sure that that's the point of Fireball. Take some poor quality whiskey and add some flavoring. Same thing with Honey Jack.

I've always assumed that barbecue potato chips were invented to make use of otherwise un-marketable batches of potato chips.

You have to try it with eggnog. It's sooooo good.

Rumchata pairs well with it also.

I have some "science" to report. No data yet on its curative powers, but I did find it freezes which suggest very little alcohol in my alcohol. I'm a bit of a lightweight so I only drank half the little bottle of Fireball and put the rest in the freezer. It is frozen solid this morning.

The last whiskey I ordered was Blanton and then I noticed on their menu that they are proud of their old-fashioned so I had them turn my Blanton into an old-fashioned. It's really nice that way. Blanton is 93 proof. Even 80-proof Jamison doesn't freeze.

Fireball around here didn't get popular until long after I stopped drinking. I missed on a lot of fancy craft cocktails and IPAs. I ain't mad either.

Your freezer is colder than -12°F. That's where Fireball freezes.

FYI

If your freezer is at the right temp it should be minus 18.

Celsius. Because no-one in the world apart from Americans still uses Fahrenheit.

As a late-in-life drinker, I'm having the opposite experience.

You didn't miss anything with Fireball, and I'm not that enamored with alcohol, myself. I'm mostly curious about why others are, so I persist.

Is that just the freezing point of 1/3 ethyl alcohol and 2/3 water?

Fireball is apparently 66 proof, which explains why 1/2 a shot was so dramatic different than a generously poured Blanton.

LTR loves the stuff.

With her sweet tooth, I'm not surprised. I'm going to guess she is also a Rumplemins fan as well?

I put Fireball in my hot cider autumn drinks. The only person I know that's had the covid is vegan. Nuff said. :)

Wouldn't dissolving Red Hots in any mediocre whiskey get a similar result?

Kinda. That’s more like after shook. With fireball there not any sugar crystals left in the bottle. We use to do it with jolly rancher’s.

The SO and I did shots of Jack Daniels Tennesse Fire Whiskey when we had COVID last November. It felt like we had congestion in our throats and didn't want it to spread down into the lungs. It seemed to help, and we never had chest congestion.

So I approve usage.

I did something similar with ten-year-old Glenmorangie dissolving RedHot candies.

Just for funzies, I'm going to see if I can (eventually) actually finish a bottle of something. I'm halfway through a 750ml bottle of Glenmorangie. I had a shot earlier and it did nothing. Added some to my cocoa now hours later. It gives the cocoa a more dark chocolate taste.
