People popping them off everywhere, expelling all sorts of pollutants into the air. Not to mention the lead bits tossed about. BoomBoom stick target ranges should be treated as toxic waste sites. Charge the BoomBoomers under EPA regulations the same way others who spew toxic waste are.

years ago i went through a shooting course in order to get licensed (yes i did!). the instructor made us all wear masks, which i thought was a pain in the ass. when i wanted to know why, he said they didn't want anyone suing down the road because they'd gotten lead poisoning from all of the debris in the air. so, there's that................

UK shotgun shells no longer use lead shot because of the poisoning you might get if you eat what you shoot (or if predators eat what you have shot).

Fishing weights cannot now be sold if they are made with lead. But many anglers have old lead weights they inherited.
