Moochie’s Mementos (and a pic or two)

Halloween rolled around again,
And dressed in an early 1960’s housewife ensemble,
Complete with pearls to clutch,
She found herself at the bar again.
It had become a second home by then
And everyone knew and loved her.

She got her soda
Turned to her booth…
And there he was.

That moment when
the words glide
out loud

Floating in
A
mist

u see them
U feel them
u know them

Rejoice in
knowing it

Or is it?

Really enjoyed the story, Moochie! Liked the ending! :rose::rose::rose:

Nice tale, tail. ;)

Thank you. Both took quite a bit of personal work.

Lovely, haunting and teasing end or pause? :rose:

Just a pause caused by writing at work.

First chance I’ve had to sit and read. I love the way your stories are presented, has me hanging on to every word.

I read and believe the basics are drawn from a real life experience, suitably modified to entice us poor mortals.

I absolutely love the pic, you know that tailplugs are one of my things, don’t you.

Pffft. Watch it Mr. (it’s a very nice end though)

I like to let the reader decide things for themselves…. Makes it all a bit more fun to read with some ambiguity.

And I know you in particular like a good tail, Todger. :cattail:

Lovely tail very exciting

Tail? Or tale? Either way, thank you.

Just keeping the fun going...

You do that well. 🌷

Your continuing storyline is compelling and well crafted, I'm thinking it through. :) But the one thing I already knew was that whoever you bring into your life is beyond blessed and a most fortunate son or individual. I'm both fascinated and somewhat envious as you are a gem. :rose:

Thank you, tnman. I am having a difficult time believing most of what you write, but it is very kind of you to say. 🌷

🌷

{just musing to myself}

Is this her true story?
Is it a metaphor?
Is this totally a work of fiction?

Don't answer!
I don't want to know.
More enjoyable to read while considering the possibilities.

What do you think now? Have your questions been answered now that there is finality? Or were more raised with the end?

Thank you for coming along on the ride, FF. 🌷

Nice. A familiar tale with a fresh look to it.

Thank you Moochie.

I wanted to do something for the season, but thought an exorcism felt too close to reality right now… so instead you get a het couple with a man who is a ghost...

Really enjoyed the story, Moochie! Liked the ending! :rose::rose:

Glad you enjoyed it, Scoty. 🌷

Interesting story .... well done.

Thank you for reading. I’m not sure if I like it, but that’s the good thing about writing: I don’t have to read it again after it’s out of me.

You asked a question.

I would answer "I hope not. I want there to be more."

*sigh*

I really do too… but I don’t think this story will get any more space on the page. 💜

The good news is, their love will be always
Even if nothing is written of it ever again
They will endure the pain of it.

For me, more questions were raised by the ending. But I suppose that is real life. A never ending story.

I must add that I thoroughly enjoyed the story and your writing style. Well worth reading.

Thank you.

An interesting twist, Moochie.
Makes me think of a passage from an Indigo Girls song...

Of all my demon spirits
I need you the most
I'm in love with your ghost

I really like that… those lyrics are deep. 💜🌷💜

Now this is most definitely the ending I like. 😇😜

Beautiful story, perfect for the time of year, hope it helped straighten your mind out a bit.

Thought you would! ;)

Thank you, Todger. 🌷

It’s the things I tell myself not to say
The words I write and then erase
The unwritten messages between
The distanced, polite, curt ones

In that space lives my truths
The tears you won’t see
The loss of strength or fight
The deep ache of my heart
The wishes that you know
The pain that will never end

It’s amidst the pauses
And the overthought replies
You will get the glimpse
Of what I really want to say

It’s the things I tell myself not to say
The words I write and then erase
The unwritten messages between
The distanced, polite, curt ones

In that space lives my truths
The tears you won’t see

So.

I must pay closer attention.
Analyze everything that is written,
and surmise what was erased or never written.

Read between the lines,
find the unseen tears,
feel your ache, feel your pain.

All of which I willingly do,
in my never ending quest
to help you through dark times.:heart::heart:

:D

I caught on to this soon after you first started posting on Lit. It is very difficult, to say the least, to get into the mind of another person, more so when long distance.

Yes, this was my Halloween costume. I wore it to work last night and it is my outfit today.

November 1st - a correspondence poem

my Love,

Last night, I whispered
‘I miss you’
into the sky, and watched the words
settle amongst the stars
the way your face did when I looked up
into your eyes before that last kiss…
and I wanted you to know,
there’s still space here, in my heart
where your name is written
Always,
Yours

I avoid emotional pain when I can but sometimes, yesterday for me, we lost our 14 y.o. loving dog and that pain is real and significant. Your pain, or rather your prose of pain, is elegant and beautiful. You speak soul language, Moochie! :rose::rose::rose: BTW....this picture makes me want to taste you, even more!

What a tender image, while also so poignant.

It's incredible how just two words, "last kiss" can be so painful.

I ache that you are still in such pain. Such pain may linger a long time.

But I am confident that you will eventually leave the darkness and discover the light.

Life will go on.

and what a great picture to couple with this poem.
