I read a lot, from a lot of sources. Both right and left leaning (not hard right or left). Prior to the 2020 election, there was universal disdain for Trump on both sides. Biden won by being a moderate. But now, there is widespread and deep disdain, bordering on foaming at the mouth, at progressives.
The mindless parroting of climate change, of defund the police, of affirmative action seems to be driving the entire middle away from the Dems. I see this to an amazing degree in the comments on both left leaning and right leaning web sites. The 'big tent' of the Dems, with wildly progressive voices given prominence, seems to be alienating the educated masses the Dems are counting on.
Further, the 'in power' party usually gets pounded in the midterm. We may well have a strong economy, booming employment, free internet porn, and only the angry republicans show up to vote in numbers. A year out from the midterm, but from what I am seeing, things look bleak for the Dems.
