Recklessly killing his cinematographer and wounding one other crew member, Baldwin is in deep guano. I predict an involuntary manslaughter charge any day now, not to mention a huge civil suit.

Yeaaaaa that's a bigly fuck up.

But he's (D) royalty, so he'll probably not be charged with anything.

You spent thousands of dollars on stupid people telling you stupid shit.

Another bound-to-fail prediction by a Deplorable.

No wonder they don't take me up on my wagers.

You only care because you don't like him and he doesn't share your myopic views.

Grow up.

In reference to the OP.

I think he's a good actor, but a total dick IRL, true.

He's also rabidly anti-gun. Maybe he should have spent a few minutes learning about them instead of huffing and puffing about them, eh?

What a stupid comment. Unless there's some mystery here, he's simply an actor who was handed a prop gun like hundreds of times before and told that it was good to go as a prop gun. Where there may be a problem is that actors seem to be cautioned to not actually point the gun at anyone and he apparently did.

But to hold the actor accountable for the condition of the props is a real DoDo understanding of much of anything.

You simply can't stop being less than a zero.

He's an actor on this set, true. He's also the producer, the boss. And several hours earlier, the crew walked off for reasons of working conditions, including gun safety. Apparently this is the third accidental discharge on the set of this flick.

So if the prop manager was replaced, he was replaced by Baldwin to keep production rolling. And the fact that Baldwin didn't bother to check the weapon himself is reckless, not to mention pointing it at someone without making absolutely personally sure it was unloaded.

You're a childish old man, you don't give a damn about the victims, it's all about sticking it to Alec.

Grow the fuck up.

I'll be sure to run all the topics I'm thinking of commenting on by you for your approval from here on out. LOLGF.

That's some FINE triggering right there.

Straight up ass hurt. :D

WAH!!!! :D

Yea, it's about holding the killer accountable.

The only question is will he be held accountable or will he get a pass for being a good friend of the left?

The right is trying really hard to make this a out Baldwin...and it's not working

Comical really

It is pure karmic justice.

The guy who knows NOTHING about guns who lectures gun owners
about how evil and stupid they are and wants to take their guns away from them
has just become the poster boy for that movement. He should have checked the gun out personally.

This is the same guy who has no problem making movies where he is constantly using a gun.

Hubris and hypocrisy go hand-in-hand. Pride goeth before a fall.

The sad part is that. because he's famous and beloved (by some),
he will walk away, probably without even a bad memory of this
since his sycophants will treat him as and convince him that,
in all of this, he was the one true victim...

This is too good to be true.

A loyal Democrat icon shoots someone,
and the reaction is to blame the right for overreacting...

... if Clint Eastwood accidentally shot someone, the catcalls would come from the balcony,

COMMON SENSE GUN LAWS!!!

As I posted elsewhere, I know of two virtually identical incidents in this state over the past 9 years or so. In each case the shooter was a nobody and was charged with negligent homicide. More than a few of us are waiting to see what the Santa Fe Sheriffs Dept. decides to do.

To follow up, just as an aside,

Remember the woman whose restaurant was completely shut down due to Covid
who had to sit by haplessly while a film crew was working right next door,
catered, and had to follow zero Covid protective procedures...

I should've clarified - political overreaction

Nobody is taking the death lightly.

("Hollywood are evil pedophiles and such...they deserve...")

I wonder what it must be like to be very anti gun - but at the same time be perfectly happy using guns as a narrative device in a movie - and then to kill someone with a gun while using it in your art.

I mean, what does that do to you?

From what I understand, movie people have specialists who are supposed to make sure any guns on a movie set are safe. That's their whole job. I don't think there'd be any reason at all for them to have real bullets on a movie set, and obviously whoever's job it was to check the guns is never going to work in Hollywood ever again.

How is it about anything other than Baldwin?? He shot and killed someone.

James Woods?? Clearly that would have been an example as to why guns need to be banned for everyone who didn't shoot anyone.

He should have taken a gun safety course. I think the NRA offers them.

Or have entire armed security teams around them 24/7.....

Or in some cases have their own CCW/CHL and are "Guns for me, 911 and waiting for thee."

It makes them insane elitist.

It's the job of anyone who picks the gun up to check it.

API, tracer, full metal jacket, blanks .... fuckin' water tank for the squirt squirt. Whatever it is a gun is loaded with it's ultimately the users responsibility to check and inspect their gun before pointing at someone and sending it.

100% if you pick it up YOU are responsible..... the end.

I'm certified as both a rifle and pistol instructor. On top of that I'm a certified Range Safety Officer. While the RSO training is a much deeper dive into safety the rifle and pistol AND CCW courses spend the first block of instruction on safety.

What is driven home are the basics and among those are;

1. No matter how much you may trust someone, if they hand you a firearm and tell you it's unloaded you STILL check it yourself. Firearms are ALWAYS assumed to be loaded.

2. Never point a firearm at anyone or anything you don't intend to destroy.

Those are but a couple of the rules of firearm safety but those two are the rules that Baldwin ignored.
