State tells city residents not to drink tap water after three years of dangerous lead contamination
Levels of lead significantly exceeding the federal action level of 15 parts per billion have been reported in Benton Harbor, Mich., since at least 2018.
Advocates said Benton Harbor residents for the past three years have been “subjected to levels of lead contamination from their public water system that presents an imminent and substantial endangerment to their health.”

Levels of lead significantly exceeding the federal action level of 15 parts per billion have been reported in the city since at least 2018, according to the petition from the Natural Resources Defense Council.

The city has 5,877 total service lines, 51 percent of which “are known to contain lead, are known to be galvanized lines previously connected to lead, or are of unknown material but likely to contain lead,” according to the petition. Just 2 percent have been confirmed as containing no lead.

all the more reason to get President Biden's infrastructure bill passed so as lead piping can get removed, most specifically in schools.

one wonders about correlations between lead piping and maga hot-spots

Selling water is an English merchant invention.
They outwitted even the Chinese, Greek and Jew merchants.

I can't even recall seeing bottled water when I was growing up.
Most cities had small water fountains for drinking, with treated water, spread within the city.

How come you don't see them in the West?

I presume those fountains would present the same risk of lead contamination as private homes in the same town.

Hey, at least it's not fluoride!
:D i love that movie, dr. strangelove. it's a warning to us all, lol

the effects of flouride in the water has proven itself a boon in the u.k in protecting damage to children's teeth. none of my kids ever needed a filling.
In short: The issue has been extensively studied since the 40s. As a result, every reputable public health organization endorses the benefits of fluoridation. To date, no such organizations have endorsed claims that fluoride is a secret communist mind-control plot -- though we wait with bated breath.

this may be one of the funniest things i've seen and heard in a long time

yes, she was asking what was being put into the water to make it make rainbows in sprinklers and hoses, education...a war we MUST win!
"What the heck is in our water supply that creates a rainbow effect in a sprinkler?"

i love this reply:
Well, not to get technical, but I think the scientific term for it is "water".
