'To say I'm livid is putting it mildly': Rick Wilson slams the 1/6 committee for blowing their chance to nail Trump

In a series of tweets on Friday morning, former GOP consultant and Lincoln Project founder Rick Wilson lashed out at the members of the House select committee tasked with investigating the Jan 6th insurrection, saying -- from what he has been told -- they are blowing their chance to make Trump pay for inciting the riot.

Writing, "To say I'm livid is putting it mildly," Wilson went on to add, "I have some bad news. After multiple calls I have some extremely grim news. As of now 1/6 commission is dead already, and will not enforce the subpoenas. Trump wins. "

According to the Never Trumper, "This is staffed wrong, led wrong, and a gutless exercise to get back to talking about infrastructure. They're not taking the risk seriously, they're not taking the data before them seriously, and they're eager to run out the clock."

He elaborated by writing, "I'm told that the whole plan is to bring in academics to examine the information from that day, when it should be a LE/IC style counterterrorism investigation. The leadership has already decided to slow roll it and write a tsk tsk memo at the end."

Not so much snarling Jaguars as Panzy Pussys!

Jan. 6 committee will 'swiftly consider' criminal referral for Steve Bannon over subpoena defiance

Well it looks like RIck provoked the Committee.:)

The House select committee will "swiftly consider" making a criminal referral for Steve Bannon if he continues to defy their subpoena.

"We will not allow any witnesses to deny a lawful subpoena or attempt to run out the clock, and we will swiftly consider a criminal contempt of Congress referral," the pair said in a statement.

The lawmakers said former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and former Defense Department chief of staff Kash Patel have been engaging with the committee, while longtime Trump aide Dan Scavino still has not been served with his subpoena.

Dan is ducking the process servers, per Lumpy's instructions.

Breaking!
Scavino served today.

Trump rages at Biden for rejecting request to withhold White House info.

"Biden has rejected our request to withhold White House information from the House Unselect Committee investigating the January 6th protest, but has not taken a stance on the insurrection that took place on November 3rd, often referred to as the Crime of the Century," Trump said.

Trump is seeking to assert executive privilege to prevent documents relating to January 6 from being handed over to the select committee by the National Archives.

Wait! It gets sillier!

Trump tells 4 former aides to defy Jan. 6 committee's subpoena.

Former President Donald Trump is directing a group of his former aides to ignore a subpoena from the House committee probing the Jan. 6 Capitol attack and signaling he will go to court to block their testimony to the investigators.

The committee has subpoenaed documents and testimony from four Trump administration alumni: former social media czar Dan Scavino, former Defense Department official Kash Patel, former chief of staff Mark Meadows, and former White House adviser Steve Bannon. The four men were ordered to turn over documents related to Jan. 6 by Thursday and to sit for interviews with investigators next week.

But Trump is saying otherwise. In a letter that POLITICO viewed, a Trump lawyer tells them not to cooperate with the probe.

The letter stated the committee is seeking materials that are covered by executive privilege, as well as other privileges.

Merrick Garland thinks he’s being neutral in the face of Trump’s crimes. He’s wrong -- he’s being complicit

The court of public opinion is exhausted. What we need is for the courts of law to start doing their part again. Instead, the Democrats are acting like institutions are powerless again, as if they are not the party controlling them. I understand why some oppose prosecuting a former president. They fear doing so will foment even more distrust of institutions than we already have. But it's the reverse that's true. The more the Democrats fear using the power they have for the purpose of administering justice, the more Americans will distrust institutions.

Why? Because why trust institutions, especially the institutions dedicated to the rule of law, when it's so obvious that some people really are so obviously above the law. As long as the Democrats don't pressure Garland, and as long as Garland twiddles his thumbs, that collective sloth proves that some people are above the law. Just as laws are meaningless without people to enforce them, principles are meaningless without people putting them into practice. Someone is going to be above the law when other people are afraid to uphold it.

Garland thinks he's being neutral. No, he's being complicit.

And we the people should make him know it.

No one, absolutely no one, gives a flying fuck about this kangaroo court.

If you mean the 1/6 committee, a lot of people care.

Ask 1000 people what they care about right now, and I'd be shocked if 10 even mention it as something they even think about, much less prioritize.

You don’t want the truth about 1/6 to come out. Noted.

I know it's trite to write "LOL,' but I really LOL'ed at that post of yours. As if this gang of liars has the slightest interest in the truth. We all see right through this gang of clowns, and understand that any "report" they put out will be slanted, partisan garbage. That's why Granny Ricktus was so determined to keep anyone not an obsequious poodle off the commission.

Oh, you mean the super partisan guys who were planted to derail the investigation? Those guys?

And why trump is desperately trying to claim executive privilege and ordering his minions to defy subpoenas if there’s no there there?

Once again you’re running scared and trying to discredit legitimate investigations. By the way, how’d that Arizona audit turn out?

I'm not sure if you're trying to be funny, but this is just hilarious in its cluelessness. I assume you see Adam Schiff as the very soul of moderation and disinterest, right?

Again, you see an investigation of 1/6 as ludicrous kangaroo court, not in part because they kicked off two conspiracy theory BIG LIE supporters.

Keep on trumpin’

This kangaroo court has all the legitimacy of Bane's tribunals in The Dark Knight Rises. All of their conclusions were written before they so much as ordered the first day's catering.

I get it. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

scavino served in his absence...staffer at mar-a-largo accepted the papers on his behalf, more subpoenas, and 2 former trump aides engaging with investigators:

The committee’s leaders Friday said Meadows and Kash Patel, another Trump loyalist, have shown signs of cooperating with a demand for documents and eventual testimony about the failed insurrection.

In their statement, Thompson and Cheney make clear that the committee will act "swiftly" against those who refuse to comply with a lawful subpoena, including by seeking to hold them in criminal contempt, as they try to squash concerns that the committee will not act forcefully enough.

Didn't you read the OP? Nothing that directed or coherent is going on here.

Don't you want to hear how the Democratic congressman gave tours to Antifa on the evening of January 5th?

I'm surprised they haven't pulled that one. Maybe it's just because they already ran with "They were Antifa in disguise" and it flopped.
