The speed with which the army and government fell should have educated some to that. We trained them over 20 years, supplied them with up-to-date modern tools of war. And the entire government and military collapsed within days. The reason for that: THEY DID NOT WANT WHAT WE INSISTED THEY MUST HAVE.

So no, Trump's deal had nothing at all, other than the timing, to do with the fall. We need to place blame where blame is due, but this ain't one of those times.

Once the Afghan sent laid down their arms those troops couldn't stay or even more soldiers would have died. All we can do is be grateful they talked Trump out of withdrawing them in January which was a horrible plan.
