For the normal daily driver stuff where you're not running more than 70% of the range, an electric vehicle makes sense, even in winter as long as the traction control and heater works well. Up here, I would want to put it in the garage, just because it's damn nice to get into a warm car in the morning and not have to scrape windows or sweep off the snow. Until I stop hearing about battery banks overheating and catching on fire, no EV will be in my garage.
