Rocky Road was created by Dryer's Ice Cream which back in the 40s and 50s was a local ice cream parlor in Oakland, California on College Ave around 1 mile from the University of California, Berkeley campus. Or Cal as it is called.

Dryer's was around six blocks from my home and we use to walk down there after school for a scoop of Rocky Road usually a cone. Eventually the world discovered it and the rest is history. I don't know where you are located, but your scoop of Rocky Road traveled to you from a little ice cream parlor in Oakland, CA.
