Actually it was the 1957 civil rights act, and it was Strom Thurmond, who of course later became a Republican. And you forgot the part where it was the Democrats who engineered cloture on the 1964 bill and got it through Congress. Nice try though.

They invented the KKK, segregation, Jim Crow, the institution of slavery in the South. They opposed the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments that established black civil rights. Republicans elected the first black members of the House and the first black Senator.

I already knew you didn't read your links, now I see you don't even read the portions you post here. No surprise, really.
In any event, the longest-ever filibuster by a single senator was Strom Thurmond in 1957, as I said. And as even your source acknowledges, the Dems who filibustered the 1964 act were from the South. You know, the South, where except for Georgia, all the senators are now Republicans. And the Republicans who voted for the bill? From states like California, Illinois, Vermont, New Jersey, New York...guess how many Republicans they now send to the Senate? Neither of those is a coincidence.
