House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Tuesday blocked the House from publicly reading the names of the 13 killed U.S. service members in Afghanistan, House Republicans said.

Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) told the Floridan that Pelosi ignored the Republicans’ request to read the names, instead she “just closed the House down.”

Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez (R-FL) tweeted a rhetorical question of whether Pelosi is attempting “to cover up” the Afghan debacle by not allowing the names to be read publicly on the floor.

“How badly do Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats want to cover up this Afghanistan debacle?” Gimenez asked. “They just blocked Members of Congress from reading the names of the service members who sacrificed their lives in Afghanistan last week. Don’t you think our military deserves better?"

Shocker that this bullshit story gets rotation here.

No more of a worthless bitch has ever served as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

A google search yields page after page of folks like Brietbart and Townhall reporting this, but no one else. And those that have run with it? If you bothered to read beyond the headline, even they don't bother pretending it's more than an accusation from the usual suspects.

My guess: there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for what she did, but that will only emerge after the deplorables have succeeded in creating outrage where there didn't have to be any.

One only needs to go to cspan for the actual video and transcripts....but nah....let's just go with the foxheads

Feel free to provide evidence that she did. Instead of posting what someone else told you she did. (Hint: she didn't)

Read it and weep asshole!!

Pelosi knelt for George Floyd in Congress but refused to read names of US military killed in Afghanistan

Several Republican congressmen accused Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi of refusing to read the names of the servicemembers killed in Afghanistan during the ISIS-k attack last week. This is the same Pelosi who wore Kente cloth and kneeled for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in the Capitol Visitor Center to honor George Floyd, a criminal who resisted arrest and died in police custody. Pelosi’s action — or lack thereof, as this case may be — should be rebuked and condemned.

“We gaveled in, had a prayer, said the Pledge of Allegiance, took a moment of silence with pretty much all Republican veterans, then asked to be recognized to read names and bring up Afghanistan legislation,” said Rep. Brian Mast of Florida. "They did not acknowledge us, and just closed the House down.”

“House Democrats just refused to recognize Republican veterans on the House Floor to read the names of our fallen service members in Afghanistan. That’s how far our nation has fallen,” tweeted Rep. Greg Steube of Florida.

“How badly do Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats want to cover up this Afghanistan debacle? They just blocked Members of Congress from reading the names of the service members who sacrificed their lives in Afghanistan last week. Don’t you think our military deserves better?” tweeted Rep. Please take your own advice:

In other words, it's still just an accusation from just the sort of people you would expect that accusation from.

And if anyone was thrown by the msn.com link, go ahead and click on it: it's really the Washington Examiner, famous for its close ties to Trump.

So you still haven't looked at the transcript to corroborate the accusations and instead keep finding someone else to tell you what happened.

You can even watch the video and verify for yourself.

But you won't, because you prefer to just go along with what others tell you.

So, you know more of what went on than the Congressmen that were in the room. Right..

You're a legend in your own mind!!

Who gives a rat's ass anyway?

Reading out the names of the military dead on the floor of Congress has never been a custom. Let their families be satisfied with a military funeral.

I know what went on....I actually checked sources.

I'm sure the people in the room have a better view as cameras don't show the entirety of the chamber. You do know there are procedures they follow...every session.

I do find it funny that you haven't even tried to verify

Yes, and those Congressmen have a sterling record when it comes to telling the truth about Nancy Pelosi. Yessir.

Crenshaw was more honest about what happened.
Republicans were on the House floor yesterday asking for unanimous consent that we vote on a bill that would simply demand that the administration give us a plan for getting Americans out, getting our equipment out and not recognize the Taliban. There was nothing partisan about that at all. But Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats refused to even allow a vote on it.
A toothless gesture, and rather bold considering it was Trump who made a deal with the Taliban.

The theater worked on people like the OP, who can't be bothered to spend five mins understanding the spin.

Sadly, he'll continue to not see for himself what truly happened, instead of believing what someone else told him

It's a toothless tool who believes he can repeal every Trump policy by EO but blame Trump for a deal that was made that somehow binds him.

BTW Trump said that the Taliban broke his "deal" and should have proceeded any way he saw fit. Real leader - what Biden isn't.

Shocker ...you mean he said he would do things better right after saying his opposition did it poorly?

Then I'm sure he totally would have....because he said so

Again, what does it matter? Reading out the names of the war dead on the floor of Congress was never a custom. (Just imagine trying to do that during WWII!) They get military funerals and their families, I think, get some kind of death benefits; that's enough.

A google search yields page after page of folks like Brietbart and Townhall reporting this, but no one else.

That's the Democrat legacy media protecting Democrats and hoping the memory of our fallen dead, and it's association to Democrat policy, will blow over and be scoured from the national memory by subsequent events before the arrival of the political grim reaper next November.
