I saw some pictures of teachers on strike a few years ago, with one holding up a sign reading, "No way Ho-Say."
It is clear you aren't up to date on how masks have an adverse affect on children. What's worse is your eagerness to turn over the responsibility of raising children to people who don't even love them. You make that decision based on spelling, yet in my years of experience I've found that many of the worst spellers are teachers.

I read the DeSantis E/O and no where did I read the order to state that mask are not allowed to be worn in a school environment. It states that you can’t blanket mandate mask wearing. The choice is up to the parents to make that decision. The decision for parents is a choice between the Covid threat or the other medical issues that occur wearing a mask for long periods of time.

I don't think you know what heavy hand of government is. Why do you think that local bureaucrats know better than the parents? You think a one size fits all approach works for everyone? You're not prevented from wearing masks. You just can't force others to comply with your orders. It's weird how you think giving parents options is the heavy hand of government, but government mandates aren't the heavy hand of government. I will concede on private businesses, but the school board cannot say they are protecting children, so long as they don't mandate vaccines for teachers.

Anyone else see a disconnect here? A governor can order EVERYONE to wear a mask but can't order other public officials to NOT order everyone to wear a mask. Totalitarianism is OK but freedom isn't.

Call the legislature in, decertify the teachers unions and then remove all the local school boards that want to play these silly games. Look at the counties attempting to defy DeSantis and then go look at the 2020 election results by county.
