Where is the outrage over all the children who are hospitalized and die from seasonal flu every year? Far more children die each year from seasonal flu viruses each year than what we’re seeing with Covid. This particular coronavirus hits the elderly and immunologically compromised hardest. Children can become seriously ill and even die, but the numbers are extremely low in comparison to historical norms for the common flu.

While COVID treatments have improved and lowered the CFR. Keep in mind that is possible only because the space is there to treat those people, right?

If the hospitals get filled up, then you are going to be back to scene that New York faced early on in March of 2020. If you recall the instructions to EMS personal in New York was, if you have a heart attack patient, don't bring them to ER.....

The CFR is not really a discussion point, until we can't treat patients, and that lack of treatment will then drive up the CFR,causing a discussion.

Now isn't that a discussion we really want to avoid???

Here are seven suggestions as families prepare for the return to school:

1. Make sure all adults in the household are vaccinated. The best way to protect
vulnerable children is to have all their close contacts vaccinated.

2. Go outdoors. Outdoors remains the safest place for the unvaccinated.

3. Mask indoors at all times when around other unvaccinated people.

4. Increase testing.

In our pod, everyone agrees to mask in grocery stores, churches and other

every teacher should be vaccinated or, at the very least, double-masked before standing in a classroom with children too young to be able to GET vaccinated. NO TEACHER should be placing a child in their care at risk.

no unmasked child should be allowed in the same classroom as the masked ones... if their parents insist of putting them at risk and at risk of spreading covid to those with masks, then they need to be okay with the kids being separated from their classmates and educated by teachers who are vaccinated (or even not, though that's about their perspective, not mine)

every child whose parents mock their worries and make them feel it's stupid to wear a mask or absolutely refuse to let them and later that child contracts covid because of this? they should be free to sue the parents and authorities able to bring a case of reckless child endangerment against the parents
